SB Sunbo’s Busan Business Site has taken a major step toward creating a workplace where employees can work with confidence and establishing a self-driven occupational safety and health management system. From June 22 to July 19, the site will conduct its 2026 Regular Risk Assessment across all departments.
A risk assessment is a systematic process in which employees identify potential hazards and risk factors in the workplace, evaluate their level of risk, and establish and implement corrective measures to reduce those risks to an acceptable level.
It is an essential safety management activity strongly emphasized under Korea’s Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. It is also regarded as a key element of proactive safety and health management, helping prevent serious workplace accidents by identifying and eliminating hazards before incidents occur.
Step-by-Step Specialized Training Completed… Developing On-Site Safety Experts
SB Sunbo made thorough preparations in advance to ensure that this year’s risk assessment is conducted systematically and delivers practical results in the workplace.
The HSE Team provided a series of specialized training sessions, from the fourth through the ninth sessions, for a total of 40 participants, including 18 departmental risk assessment coordinators and 22 supervisors.
Training for supervisors—the key figures responsible for workplace safety and those carrying legal responsibilities—was particularly strengthened.
To enhance their ability to identify actual hazards in production environments and lead immediate improvements, the program combined in-depth theoretical instruction with customized hands-on training designed to develop practical safety expertise.
Working Together Toward “Zero Hazards and Risk Factors”
Following the completion of the structured training program, departmental coordinators and supervisors will begin full-scale risk assessment activities alongside on-site employees throughout the approximately one-month assessment period.
They will lead practical risk assessment meetings, conduct thorough workplace inspections, and operate a hazard reporting and suggestion system to identify and evaluate even the smallest potential risks in the workplace.
SB Sunbo stated that corrective measures identified through the assessment will be implemented on-site without delay.
Through these efforts, the company expects to create an even safer working environment while making significant progress toward establishing a company-wide culture of safety.
