SB Sunbo’s volunteer organization, the “Sunbo Volunteer Group,” continued its commitment to community care by bringing warmth to the local society through ongoing social contribution activities. On May 12, the group visited the Mollundae Community Welfare Center in Saha-gu, Busan, where they carried out a lunch service volunteer activity for local senior citizens. A total of nine members participated, including Vice Chairman Park Doo-sun, Executive Director Choi Kyung-ho, and other employees and interns. The volunteers supported meal distribution, dishwashing, and cafeteria cleanup, ensuring a smooth and comfortable dining experience for the seniors. Beyond serving meals, the team also greeted the elderly with warm smiles and sincere care, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout the facility. Participants shared their reflections, noting that the experience was meaningful and rewarding, and that even small acts of support can have a significant impact on others. The Sunbo Volunteer Group will continue to expand its social contribution activities, sharing warmth with the local community and growing together with society.

The first session covered essential business manners, including phone communication, formal email writing, reporting structures, and communication practices that foster collaboration and a healthy organizational culture. The second session focused on hands-on training using generative AI tools to improve work efficiency. Participants practiced tasks such as information summarization, translation, and drafting outlines for business proposals, gaining practical experience in applying AI to everyday work tasks. SB Sunbo Conducts 2026 Emergency Response Training

SB Sunbo conducted its 2026 Emergency Response Training in May to strengthen preparedness for fire and explosion incidents and enhance employees’ ability to respond quickly and accurately in emergency situations. The training was carried out across multiple sites, starting at Dadae Plant 2 on May 15, followed by Dadae Plant 1, Gimhae Plant, and Gupyeong Plant. All employees, including managers, in-house workers, and partner company staff, participated in this practical, scenario-based training program. The drills covered the full emergency response process, including fire detection and reporting, alert dissemination, initial firefighting using extinguishers and hydrants, and emergency evacuation procedures. The training focused on improving rapid response capabilities and minimizing potential loss of life and property in real-world situations. In addition, emergency medical response training was conducted, including simulations of fracture injuries requiring evacuation assistance and cases of cardiac arrest caused by excessive smoke inhalation. Participants practiced first aid skills such as immobilizing fractures, patient transport using stretchers, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and other life-saving techniques. Training on the Heimlich maneuver was also provided, allowing participants to practice proper first aid responses to airway obstruction incidents that may occur in daily life. A representative from the local fire department attended the training session at Dadae Plant 1 to observe SB Sunbo’s emergency preparedness activities. Through this training, SB Sunbo reinforced its emergency response capabilities and reaffirmed its commitment to building a workplace where safety is the top priority.

On May 13, 104 students from the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Mokpo National University visited SB Sunbo’s Daebul Plant as part of a corporate site tour program designed to provide firsthand experience of the shipbuilding and marine engineering industry. During the visit, students learned about SB Sunbo’s global competitiveness and future vision through a company introduction and promotional presentation. Students of Hallim Middle School had the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and explore future career paths through a special career experience program supported by the Sunjae Scholarship Foundation. From April 28 to 30, all 55 first-year students participated in the three-day program, gaining valuable educational experiences through visits to various institutions and cultural sites. The students toured Korea University, the National Assembly, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the E-Sports Hall of Fame, Seodaemun Prison History Hall, and the National Science Museum of Korea, experiencing a wide range of activities spanning humanities, history, media, and science. The program was made possible through the support of Chairman Choi Sang-sik of the Sunjae Scholarship Foundation, a graduate of Hallim Middle School’s 17th class, who wished to provide meaningful educational opportunities for younger students. The foundation covered program expenses so students could participate without financial burden. The Sunjae Scholarship Foundation plans to continue expanding scholarship and educational support programs for local students in the future.

During the session, trust was highlighted as a key factor in improving organizational performance. In particular, appreciation was introduced as an essential tool for reinforcing positive behavior, creating psychological safety, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture. The lecture also introduced an effective three-step framework for expressing appreciation: “Situation – Behavior – Impact.” The speaker explained the importance of communication that specifically connects employees’ actions with positive outcomes and achievements. In addition, four key principles of effective appreciation were shared: • Immediacy (providing feedback right after a situation occurs) • Specificity (focusing on observable actions) • Connection (linking actions to team goals) • Consistency (applying feedback fairly and consistently) SB Sunbo plans to continue operating various morning lecture programs to strengthen trust among employees and foster a healthy and positive organizational culture.
