The Sunbo Volunteer Corps, which takes the lead in putting SB Sunbo’s culture of giving into practice, continued to extend a helping hand to the local community, creating moments of warmth and heartfelt connection.

Despite their busy work schedules, employees willingly set aside their valuable time to share kindness with their neighbors. Here is a look at these meaningful volunteer activities.

“Meal Service of Love” – Providing a Hearty Meal for Local Seniors

Eight members of the Sunbo Volunteer Corps visited Molundae Welfare Center to volunteer in serving meals to local senior citizens.

The menu for the day was bibimbap, a hearty and convenient one-bowl meal that the seniors could enjoy with ease.

The volunteers served each meal with care while exchanging warm greetings with the seniors. After the meal service was over, they also washed the dishes and thoroughly cleaned and organized the dining area, completing their duties from start to finish.

As a small surprise for the volunteers after the activity, a coffee coupon raffle was held, with Senior Associate Park Sung-woo becoming the lucky winner.

Senior Associate Yang Su-won, who participated in the volunteer activity for the first time, shared his thoughts:

“I was very proud to have the opportunity, even through my small contribution, to provide a delicious meal for senior citizens in the neighborhood. In fact, I returned to work feeling even more energized after receiving so much positive energy from the seniors at the welfare center. It was a truly meaningful experience.”

“Dadae Molundae Apartment Pest-Control Volunteer Activity” – Fighting Pests Through Sweat and Dedication

Later in the month, in cooperation with the Molundae Community Welfare Center, the Sunbo Volunteer Corps carried out a summer pest-control activity for 31 households at the Dadae Molundae Permanent Rental Apartments.

Seven members of the volunteer corps took part in the activity, dedicating their time and effort despite the early summer heat.

The volunteers personally visited the homes of senior residents and carefully inspected areas particularly vulnerable to pests, including drains and sewage outlets, bathrooms, and spaces beneath kitchen sinks.

Without even noticing the sweat forming on their foreheads, the volunteers knelt down and bent over to thoroughly apply pest-control treatment and install bait stations in every necessary area.

Thanks to the pest-control activities that have continued for more than a year, living conditions have improved considerably compared with the past. However, as some households are still experiencing difficulties with pests, the volunteer corps plans to continue providing regular support and maintenance.

During the activity, the volunteers also happened to cross paths with another group delivering lunch boxes. The two groups exchanged brief words of encouragement, adding another small but meaningful moment of warmth and neighborly connection.
