Through this integration, we will combine the expertise and technologies of each subsidiary to deliver faster and more precise solutions to meet customer needs.”

 CEO Choi Young-chan added,

“SB Sunbo will build a ‘Korean-style integrated decarbonization value chain,’ spanning carbon capture, storage, recycling, eco-friendly fuels, and hydrogen ecosystems.

Through strategic open innovation and close government–corporate collaboration, we aim to lead the global carbon-neutral market.”

Key future business strategies announced include:

  • Transition to eco-friendly fuels

  • Commercialization of carbon emission reduction technologies

SB Sunbo has already successfully supplied LNG Fuel Supply Systems (FGSS) to the market and is preparing for the commercialization of eco-friendly fuel supply systems (LFSS), including methanol and ammonia.

In carbon reduction, SB Sunbo plans to apply Onboard Carbon Capture System (OCCS) and Wind Assisted Propulsion System (WAPS) technologies on operational vessels by 2027, in collaboration with global shipping company MOL. Additionally, hydrogen production systems are being established in seven domestic regions, with plans to build a global CCS network with international partners by 2030.

The integrated corporation will accelerate SB Sunbo’s eco-friendly energy business expansion and aims for a stock market listing by 2027, marking a bold step toward global growth.
