ESG Management: A Strategy for Sustainable Growth
작성일
2026-03-17
A morning lecture examining the trends and practical strategies of ESG management, which has emerged as a key topic in corporate management, was held on February 11 at SB Sunbo Co., Ltd.. The session was led by Jae-Ho Ahn, who explained that as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) has become a core standard for evaluating corporate sustainability, the paradigm of corporate management is undergoing significant change. In the past, corporate evaluations focused primarily on financial performance. Today, however, non-financial values—including environmental responsibility, social accountability, and transparent governance—have also become critical factors in assessing a company’s overall performance. The lecture also emphasized that ESG is no longer simply a matter of corporate image management, but rather a strategic management approach directly linked to corporate competitiveness. A systematic ESG strategy across areas such as responding to environmental changes, managing supply chains, and communicating with stakeholders plays an important role in enhancing corporate value and establishing a foundation for sustainable growth.

Leadership that Persuades Beyond Explanation

The morning lecture held on February 4 focused on the theme “Explaining Leaders vs. Persuading Leaders.” Se-Young Lee, Principal Manager of the ESG Communication Team at SB Sunbo Co., Ltd., delivered the lecture, sharing practical insights on presentation and communication strategies for team leaders and managers. Lee emphasized that the effectiveness of leadership presentations depends on whether they remain at the level of simply “explaining” information or evolve into “persuading” the organization to act and make decisions. According to Lee, explanation-focused presentations may lead to more questions and extended discussions, potentially delaying decision-making. In contrast, persuasion-focused presentations clearly convey key messages and can accelerate organizational execution. Lee also noted that nonverbal elements, such as eye contact, gestures, and overall attitude, play an important role in enhancing the impact of a presentation. In addition, practical presentation strategies were shared, highlighting that when addressing complex issues, leaders should organize their messages into short, clear, and concise statements, which is essential for effective leadership communication.

SB Sunbo held a morning special lecture on October 22 and 29 at the training centers of the Gupyeong Plant and Dadae No.1 Plant as part of its employee competency development program. The lecture, titled “Speech UP! Communication Is a Competitive Advantage,” was designed to enhance employees’ communication and speech delivery skills. The October 22 session at the Gupyeong Plant was delivered by instructor Noh Joo-won from the Saha Women’s Human Resources Development Center, while the October 29 session at the Dadae No.1 Plant was led by instructor Shin Ye-som from the same organization.During the sessions, the instructors covered key topics including: • The importance of communication in the AI era • Attitudes in expressing oneself through speech • Techniques for logical speaking • Skills for clear and effective communication Employees who participated in the lecture also practiced practical communication techniques that can be applied in their daily work, allowing them to better understand how effective speech delivery can improve workplace collaboration and performance. Strategies for Successful Presentations Set clear objectives and analyze the expected audience Identify who the audience is and understand their interests in advance. Determine the core message Define the key message of the presentation and structure the details accordingly (problem – cause – solution). Collect supporting materials Strengthen the content by using statistics, quotations, and case studies from reliable sources. Design a clear structure Organize the presentation into a clear framework—introduction, main body, and conclusion—with three key points in the main section. Three Conditions for Effective Feedback Focus on facts rather than the person Objective descriptions reduce defensiveness because they evaluate actions rather than judging individuals. Be specific Example: “The report looks good overall, but it feels slightly lacking in some areas. It would be even better with a bit more detail.” Explain how the behavior affects others Example: “When you don’t share your opinion during meetings, it becomes difficult to explore diverse perspectives. I hope you can participate more actively next time.”
