  On May 13, 104 students from the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Mokpo National University visited SB Sunbo’s Daebul Plant as part of a corporate site tour program designed to provide firsthand experience of the shipbuilding and marine engineering industry. During the visit, students learned about SB Sunbo’s global competitiveness and future vision through a company introduction and promotional presentation. They also attended a session on engineering design, gaining insight into key ship design processes and the latest industry trends. The program was tailored to students’ academic levels. Freshmen toured the production facilities and observed manufacturing operations firsthand, while sophomore, junior, and senior students participated in mentoring sessions with SB Sunbo employees who are alumni of the university, discussing career paths, job responsibilities, and employment preparation. SB Sunbo remains committed to strengthening industry-academia collaboration with local universities and supporting the development of future engineering talent who will lead the next generation of the shipbuilding and marine industry.

  SB Sunbo participated in the “Busan Youth Job Growth Project” company tour program on April 24 in cooperation with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. A total of 40 job seekers from the Busan area joined the event to experience SB Sunbo’s production sites and corporate culture firsthand.  During the tour, participants visited the Gupyeong Plant and Dadae Plant 2, where they observed the shipbuilding and offshore module unit production process and gained a better understanding of on-site operations and job roles.  The program also included a company introduction and recruitment information session at the headquarters, where participants learned about SB Sunbo’s vision, corporate values, and ideal talent profile. SB Sunbo plans to continue actively communicating with local young talent while contributing to workforce development and the revitalization of the regional economy.

 A delegation from the U.S. state of Pennsylvania visited SB Sunbo in Busan on March 16 to tour its eco-friendly marine equipment production facilities and review next-generation energy technologies, while discussing potential cooperation in shipbuilding and energy supply chains between Korea and the United States. The visit aimed to explore opportunities to connect the shipbuilding and maritime industry infrastructure centered around Philadelphia with the manufacturing capabilities of Busan’s marine equipment sector. During the visit, the delegation toured SB Sunbo’s Dadae and Gupyeong plants, where they observed key production processes, including LNG fuel gas supply systems (FGSS) and reliquefaction systems. The delegation also expressed strong interest in next-generation energy initiatives, including hydrogen production technologies based on water electrolysis. On-site, the delegation highly praised the precision engineering and manufacturing competitiveness of Busan’s marine equipment companies.  The Busan Metropolitan Government and Busan Techno Park are promoting “Manucon AX” as a key strategic initiative for 2026 to accelerate AI transformation (AX) in the regional manufacturing sector. The Manucon Project—combining the words manufacturing and unicorn—aims to foster leading mid-sized manufacturing anchor companies that will represent Busan. Launched in 2024 under the vision of a “Great Revival of Busan Manufacturing,” the project will further strengthen customized AX support for participating companies starting in 2026. On January 8, President Kim Hyung-gyun of Busan Techno Park visited the headquarters of SB Sunbo alongside AI specialists and experts to discuss AI transformation strategies with company executives. This visit marked the first case of the “AI Strategy Partners” initiative engaging directly with a local manufacturing site, signaling a significant step toward industry-centered AI transformation discussions. During the meeting, key challenges were identified, including the difficulty of standardization and automation in shipbuilding and marine industries, as well as the complexity of data management. In response, participants emphasized the need for comprehensive data asset management across the entire manufacturing lifecycle—from technology development and design to production and logistics—along with the systematic adoption of AI. Busan Techno Park plans to build a collaborative model involving AI-ready companies, regional AI firms, experts, and support organizations. The goal is to position manufacturing companies not merely as consumers of AI, but as key drivers of industrial AI transformation, fostering a co-growth ecosystem between Manucon companies and regional AI enterprises. Additionally, Busan Techno Park will select four new companies for the third cohort of Busan-style anchor enterprises in 2026.   SB SUNBO Co., Ltd. participated in KORMARINE 2025, held at BEXCO in Busan from October 21 to 24, where the company shared its latest technologies and vision for sustainability in the shipbuilding, offshore, and energy industries.  Now in its 24th edition, KORMARINE is the largest shipbuilding and marine industry exhibition in Korea. Since its first event in 1980, the exhibition has been held biennially and has grown into one of the world’s leading maritime industry exhibitions. It is widely recognized as one of the four major global shipbuilding and marine exhibitions, alongside Germany’s SMM, Norway’s NOR-SHIPPING, and China’s MARINTEC CHINA.  This year’s exhibition was held on the largest scale in its history, featuring participation from Korea’s Big Three shipbuilders, shipbuilding equipment companies including SB SUNBO, and industry players from over 40 countries around the world.  At the exhibition, SB SUNBO organized its booth around its key technologies, including the Regasification System, SUN-COM (BOG Compressor Skid), SUN-RS (Recondensing System), Wind Challenger, CHS, and OCCS (RPB, Cryogenic).  Through this exhibition, the company showcased its leading technologies in eco-friendly marine energy solutions to domestic and international customers while creating opportunities for broad business exchanges aimed at technological collaboration and the development of new projects.  In particular, during the side events held on October 22 and 23, SB SUNBO shared its new vision and technology roadmap following the company’s integration. The “Advanced OCCS Session – RPB” technical session presented by Dr. Han-Kwon Lim of Carbon Value also drew significant interest and positive feedback from visitors.  Chairman Geum-Sik Choi of SB SUNBO commented, “The shipbuilding equipment industry is a key industry for Busan. We expect this exhibition to further increase our market share and contribute significantly to the economic development of Busan.”

  On August 19, first-generation participants of the Eco-Friendly & Smart Ship Future Innovation Talent Academy visited SB Seonbo for a corporate exploration program.  In the morning, the academy students began their tour at the Gupyeong Plant and then moved to Dadae Plant 2 to visit the control room. They subsequently visited the headquarters, touring the Design Center, Corporate PR Hall, and Technology Research Institute, and watched a promotional video in the training center.  Vice President Seo Jae-wook of SB Seonbo introduced the students to the company’s recruitment trends, HR policies, and welfare programs. President Cheong-Uk Kim presented SB Seonbo’s business strategies and LNG package technologies, emphasizing the company’s competitiveness and potential in domestic and international markets.  Through this corporate exploration, academy participants gained firsthand experience of the shipbuilding industry and SB Seonbo’s forward-looking vision, providing them with valuable insights and an opportunity to take another step toward becoming specialized professionals in the shipping and shipbuilding sectors.

  On the afternoon of August 27, the “Local Love: Good Job Bus” program, hosted by Busan Technopark, visited SB Seonbo Dadae Plant 1 & 2.  Young job seekers from the Busan area boarded the Good Job Bus and began their tour at Dadae Plant 2, visiting the control room and other facilities before moving on to Dadae Plant 1. The tour continued with visits to the Design Center, Corporate PR Hall, and Technology Research Institute, concluding in the training center with a screening of SB Seonbo’s promotional video.  Vice President Seo Jae-wook of SB Seonbo introduced the company’s recruitment trends and job-related information to the participants, providing practical insights for career planning.  The Good Job Bus is a corporate exploration project designed for university and graduate students (both current students and alumni) in Busan. It enables young talent to experience leading local companies firsthand and broaden their employment opportunities.  SB Seonbo, designated as Branch No. 44 of the Smart Marine Industry by Busan Technopark, is showcased to the community under key highlights such as ▲ Global top-level FGSS production  ​▲ World’s first supply of ship module units  ▲ Leading Busan-based shipbuilding equipment company  ▲ Busan Anchor Company  ▲ 2025 Youth-Friendly Company (Cheongkkeun)  This program reinforces SB Seonbo’s role as a regional industrial leader and a hub for talent development.

  On July 16, students from Busan Mechanical Technical High School visited SB Sunbo’s Dadae 2 Plant and Gupyeong Plant as part of a corporate exploration program.  Upon arrival at the Gupyeong Plant, students toured the facility before moving to Dadae 2 Plant, where they visited Building D and the Control Room. The group then proceeded to the company headquarters to explore the PR center and design offices, followed by an information session and Q&A in the training center.  Executive Director Choi Kyung-ho, in charge of business quality planning, led the session and addressed students’ questions.  SB Sunbo actively supports customized capacity-building programs run by local governments and employment agencies, helping regional youth gain a deeper understanding of career paths and on-site job roles. 

   On July 3, top executives from Europe’s largest shipbuilder, Fincantieri, visited the Dadae 2 Plant of SB Sunbo to discuss collaboration on carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies.  The delegation included Claudio Cisilino, Group EVP of Operations, Corporate Strategy, and Innovation; Paolo Cerioli, SVP of Innovation; Michele Tornielli, VP and Head of Digital Lab; and Salvatore Bonaccorso, Head of Open Innovation, who returned following his visit in March.  During the visit, the executives toured SB Sunbo’s Carbon Value pilot facility at the Dadae 2 Plant and engaged in discussions on CCS technology collaboration. SB Sunbo stated,          “This visit from Fincantieri and MTB reaffirms that our CCS technology is recognized in the global shipbuilding market and that there is significant potential for collaboration.                       We plan to further expand global partnerships and open innovation for a sustainable, eco-friendly maritime industry.”  Additionally, at the opening ceremony of Fincantieri’s Seoul Open Innovation Center on July 2, Carbon Value delivered a pitch on carbon capture technology, drawing strong interest from attendees.
