​​​ The Hanmaeum Competition, a representative communication event for Sunbo Family organized by the Organizational Culture Team, took place on June 24 at the Smart Lounge of Sunbo Industrial's Dadae 1 Plant. This year's event featured a dice-rolling contest, where participants rolled three dice, and the player with the highest total score won.    Each team selected one player to compete in a tournament format. A total of 16 players participated, and in the end, Hwang Jin-soo from the General Affairs Team claimed the championship. The winner received a prize of 50,000 KRW for their department.​ 

​​On June 12 and 19, Sunbo Industries and Sunbo Unitech held morning lectures on gratitude sharing and management in the training room and company cafeteria.   The lectures, themed "Changing the Frame of My Heart through Mind Coaching," were conducted by Park Geun-ah, a speaker from the Busan Chamber of Commerce. Participants explored methods of increasing positive energy, discussing values and priorities related to happiness, and the efforts needed to achieve it. Park covered topics including: assessing personal happiness, the relationship between positive psychology and happiness, shifting perspectives on situations, and finding gratitude in uncomfortable work circumstances. She also shared examples of successful domestic companies that have visibly increased employee performance through the practice of gratitude management.   Sunbo is committed to fostering a healthy workplace culture through regular expressions of gratitude and praise, aiming to promote a culture of love and sharing through family-friendly management.​ 

​​​​​​​​​​​Sunbo Family conducted departmental workshops in the first half of the year to enhance inter-departmental communication and foster closer relationships among colleagues.   On April 12, the H.S.E teams from Sunbo Unitech’s Daebul Plant and Sunbo Hightech shared a lunch to facilitate communication. The teams discussed ways to improve mutual communication, analyzed colleagues' personalities, and addressed perspectives and areas for improvement necessary for mutual understanding. Through this, they aimed to cultivate a unified spirit within the H.S.E teams and agreed to work together to respect and consider individual traits while enhancing areas for improvement.   In May, Sunbo Industrial's Management Support Department and Material Procurement Team, along with Sunbo Peace, held their own workshops. On May 24, Vice President Seo Jae-wook and staff from the Management Support Department visited Sunbo Unitech’s Daebul Plant and Sunbo Hightech for an overnight trip, where they listened to suggestions from each plant and enjoyed a barbecue party for relaxed interaction. The Material Procurement Team went on a caravan camping trip to Jodo in Masan from May 3 for two days to promote camaraderie while brainstorming ideas for improving material receipt rates and cost reduction strategies. Sunbo Peace spent two days at a pension on Yokji Island from May 11, discussing quality issues and countermeasures. The Design Team 1 of Sunbo Industries engaged in recreational and sports activities at a pension in Geochang on May 30, sharing insights on achieving flawless designs, cost reduction strategies, and improving work processes.   Workshops for the second half of the year are currently underway. On June 7, Sunbo Industrial’s Sales Team 1 enjoyed a beach tour in Busan before discussing plans for upcoming exhibitions, projects, and future business strategies. Sunbo mandates at least one departmental workshop per year, providing financial support to encourage enhanced communication among employees.​ 

​​​Chairman Geum Sik, Choi​ SUNBO Family was honored with the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the '2024 Korea Small and Medium Enterprise Competition' held on May 23 on the lawn in front of the President's Office in Yongsan.  The Korea Small and Medium Business Enterprise Competition is an annual event hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to reflect on the achievements of small and medium-sized venture entrepreneurs who have contributed to the development of the Korean economy, including jobs, exports, and social contributions, and to increase pride. The 'Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit' awarded by Chairman Keum-sik Choi is the highest level of industrial government award given to businessmen who have made outstanding contributions to the development of national industries.  Keum-sik Choi was recognized for his contribution to growing SUNBO Industries into the best company in the domestic ship module unit sector by striving to innovate production technology and process and strengthen quality with the goal of improving shipbuilding efficiency . In particular, it was evaluated that it has been putting a lot of effort into discovering professional technical talent and expanding investment in startups to actively and preemptively respond to the shipbuilding industry crisis. By utilizing the know-how that led the transition from a labor-intensive industry to a technology-intensive industry, we are also accelerating the development of new businesses such as green energy solutions.  Externally, he served as the chairman of the Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Cooperative and has worked to promote coexistence and strengthen competitiveness of the local shipbuilding industry. On behalf of 360 member companies of equipment companies, it is setting an example for the Busan industry by promoting the establishment of a complex logistics support center based on a smart logistics platform, the introduction of E7 foreign workers, and joint response with shipyards, government, academia, and research institutes.  also As the chairman of the Busan Community Chest of Korea, he is giving hope to neighbors in need in the local community through the ‘Hope Sharing Campaign’, ‘Prestigious Sharing Company’, and ‘ Expansion of Honor Society ’. In its management philosophy, the company considers 'gratitude' and 'sharing' as its main values and is practicing various forms of sharing, such as the in-house Carrot Market and health promotion programs that combine employee welfare and donation activities.  Geum-sik Choi said , “Thanks to the hard work and help of the government, community, and executives and employees, we were able to grow and develop into today’s SUNBO Family,” and added, “ I will contribute to the country and community with the intention of returning the glory of the SUNBO Family.”​ 

​​SUNBO Angel Partners (hereafter Sunbo Angel) and Lighthouse Combine Invest (hereinafter Lighthouse ) held a two-day integrated workshop starting on June 3.  With Sunbo Angel Lighthouse's integrated workshop was held for the first time in about four years and was held at SUNBO Industries and Ulsan UNIST. The first day's schedule is with SUNBO Angel. It consisted of an introduction to Lighthouse's management status, discussion of future projects, and invited lectures. Executives and employees shared the SUNBO Family's future vision and investment direction and introduced major projects, investment companies, and the status of promoted and new employees. In the invited lecture, Lighthouse Vice President Moo-il Jeong served as a lecturer and spoke on topics such as ' 8 years at Lighthouse ' and investment competitiveness.  Next, Seunghyeong Lee, Partner of EY-Parthenon, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Sharing cases of enhancing corporate value through operational innovation & discussing ways to apply the presentation family.'  On this day , executives and employees also shared plans to climb the Tea Horse Road to achieve ' introducing a 10 trillion won company by 2026' as a new companion project . After fasting The first day ended with a group meal with the Chairman of the SUNBO Family and a conversation with attendees.  The next day, Sang-il Seok, CEO of FES (Frontier Energy Solutions), introduced FES, a company that stands out in the perovskite solar cell field. After lunch, Godeoksu SUNBO Angel's managing director introduced Carbon Value and gave a tour of the lab.  The SUNBO Family was able to strengthen business exchanges and increase intimacy between departments and understanding of investment status and projects.​ 

​​On May 22nd, at the Library Hall of Ananti Cove Penthouse, SUNBO Angel Partners hosted a Busan roundtable event titled "Oh! Just a Moment with Oh Eun-young and Partners."  This roundtable was prepared as a special opportunity to spend time with the spouses of executives and employees by inviting Oh Eun-young, director of Oh-eun Life Science, who is active in the broadcasting industry as a child education expert. Director Eunyoung Oh gave lectures on various psychological topics such as family, childcare, work life, and human relationships, as well as consulting on various concerns conveyed through the participants' stories and giving advice. Through the lecture, SUNBO executives and their spouses were able to learn the mindset they need to have as people in charge of decision-making and organizational management.  Oheun Life Science As an investment company of the 2nd Mid-sized Enterprise Alliance Fund established by SUNBO Angel Partners, we are challenging various business areas to innovate content in the childcare and education fields and spread positive influence throughout life.​ 

​​​​​​​​​​The second team leader and Kiwon local workshop in Vietnam, which was held for 5 days and 3 nights starting on May 18, was successfully completed.  The workshop consisted of nature experiences, a visit to historical sites, a visit to the Vinasin Shipyard , tea time, and discussion. For team leaders and team members, we were able to provide various experiences and activity opportunities to executives and employees and expand communication between departments.​ 

​ ​May 29th SUNBO Industries Headquarters and SUNBO Unitech Computer security training was conducted at the Gupyeong factory.  This training was conducted with the purpose of raising awareness of spam emails, which are increasing day by day, and strengthening security as the need to protect key technical information and trade secrets of the company has emerged. Kim Byeong-mo , a technology protection expert at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, served as an instructor and provided training on information leak cases, related laws, and how to respond to hacking emails. Prior to the training, a mock phishing email training was conducted in the first half of the year in which virtual phishing emails for hacking purposes were sent to employees' in-house emails, allowing the company to check the information protection response capabilities of the SUNBO Family. Instructor Kim Byeong-mo once again emphasized the importance of information protection, saying, “There is no safe zone from security threats.”​​

​​​​​​​​​ ​On the morning of June 5th, the SUNBO Industries Division SUNBO Unitech At Daebul Factory The final activity briefing session for SUNBO Family Group Mentoring was held.  At the briefing held on this day , Jae-wook Seo 22 executives and employees, including the vice president of SUNBO Industries and mentors and mentees, attended and conducted a final report for each team, then shared their impressions and listened to each other's suggestions. Group mentoring was conducted for three months starting last March with the goal of improving understanding of other departments and strengthening personal relationships between seniors, juniors, and colleagues. Mentors (senior executives and employees) with extensive experience and knowledge provided a variety of support to mentees (employees) to improve their skills and discover their potential. A certain amount of support was paid to each participating participant to expand the scope of mentoring activities.  Group 1 (mentor Kim Jeong-seok, Senior Manager Kang Hyeong-ju), Group 2 ( Manager Ko Jung -hyun, Kim Kwang-su), and Group 3 (Mentor Kim Tae-kyung, Lee Hyeon-woo) participate in various activities such as company dinners, sports games, and spring outings, strengthening friendships and improving company life. Helpful tips were shared. Mentors provided advice to mentees by introducing them to the types of company welfare systems and how to use them, operation of showcase apps and company clubs, personnel performance evaluations, and work terminology and knowledge.  At the debriefing meeting, the mentors expressed their feelings that they had a meaningful time getting to know each other through mentoring and that they were proud of being able to help the mentees have an enjoyable work life. Mentees expressed their feelings that it was beneficial because they were able to build friendships with colleagues, seniors and juniors with whom they had no contact, and also learn about the culture and workplace etiquette. Vice President Jae-wook Seo said to the mentees, “Unlike before when I hung out with my peers, I had to work with seniors who were of a different age, so it must have been difficult to adapt at first.” He added, “People who joined the company at the same time give each other strength in difficult times. “I hope that we can use our experience communicating with other departments through mentoring to provide a lot of help to each other’s work,” he said.​​

​ ​The SUNBO Scholarship Foundation began supporting the expenses of the 'Seoul Area Career Experience to Develop Dreams and Talents' held from May 8 to 10 to help Hallym Middle School students' career activities.  As part of career activities due to the full implementation of the free semester system, Hanlim Middle School has organized cultural experience and activity programs where students visit renowned universities and facilities in Seoul. This initiative aims to cultivate students' individual dreams and talents, and foster habits of self-directed learning. In support of this, SUNBO Family Chairman Keum-sik Choi, an alumnus, decided to sponsor the program expenses to broaden the perspectives of juniors and provide opportunities to learn from a larger world.  Under the guidance of Principal Kim Mijeong and teachers from Hanlim Middle School, students visited various landmarks such as Lotte World Tower, the Blue House (Cheongwadae), Seoul National University, KBS Broadcasting Station, the National Assembly Museum, and Gyeongbokgung Palace. They enjoyed diverse experiential activities, including meetings with members of parliament and attending musicals, providing rare opportunities for cultural exchange and experiences not typically accessible to them. The students expressed high satisfaction with the program.  The Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, established in 2016, has been consistently carrying out scholarship projects, including operating career experience camps and providing scholarship support to youth in the Hallim area of Gimhae.​

​​​​​​​​​SUNBO Family organized a one-day tour event to visit Gyeongju historical sites and exhibition halls as part of a relaxation program to boost the morale of foreign workers and recover from fatigue.  May 11th, Line Industry Department SUNBO Unitech 35 foreign workers from Gupyeong Factory and SUNBO piece participated in a historical tour of Gyeongju with executives and employees. The workers visited Bulguksa Temple, SUNBO Museum, Seokguram Grotto, and Gyeongju Museum, and enjoyed a wild vegetable bibimbap luncheon to experience Korea's representative traditional culture.  Foreign workers who participated in the one-day tour said, “We are grateful to the company for organizing the event on a good day in May . We had a great time sightseeing together, and it was an opportunity for employees of various nationalities to interact with each other and unite.” reported.​ 

​​From May 19th to August 25th, SUNBO will provide Korean language and culture education as part of the 'Social Integration Program Close to Industrial Sites for Foreign Workers'.  By the Ministry of Justice is an educational program conducted for foreign workers who need to adapt to the field as the demand for foreign workers increases in the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry. As the Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Cooperative has been designated as the West Busan base center for the implementation of the program, its member companies, including SUNBO Industries, are providing training. At SUNBO, 14 foreign workers will participate and take step-by-step training. We plan to help foreign workers quickly learn Korean language and culture to achieve smooth communication and social harmony. The Ministry of Justice is conducting direct on-site training at industrial sites so that shipbuilding industry workers who have difficulty participating in training due to their workplace location or working hours are not restricted from receiving training.​

​​​​​​​​ ​From May 20th to 31st, SUNBO Industries Dadae 1 and 2 factories and SUNBO Unitech Firefighting and first-aid training was conducted at the Gupyeong factory.  The fire drill was based on a virtual fire scenario and consisted of emergency evacuation, use of a fire extinguisher, and initial extinguishment using a fire hose. Lim Young-sam , managing director of the HSE team, conducted hands-on training by educating executives and employees on the types of fire extinguishers, the names of their components , and how to use them.  that followed , education was conducted on the topic of fractures, which occur frequently, under the guidance of HSE Team Inspector Myeong-ho Lee. First aid measures were demonstrated, including how to transport a patient using a stretcher and fixing a fracture using a splint. Information was also given on the Heinrich maneuver, which is used when the esophagus is blocked , and how to use CPR and AED when a patient has a cardiac arrest.  Doo-seon Park In his critique, Vice Chairman SUNBO Family emphasized the importance of first responders to fires and first aid to patients, and said that executives and employees should actively participate in education to increase the chances of saving lives and avoid panicking in real situations.​​

​SUNBO Unitech Gupyeong Factory held an award ceremony on May 20 to celebrate achieving 1,000 accident-free days.  The Gupyeong Factory's zero-accident challenge , which started on August 20, 2021, exceeded 1,000 days as of May 16 and achieved two times zero accidents. Cheongwook Kim The CEO of SUNBO Unitech encouraged the hard work of executives and employees by awarding them a zero-accident achievement certification certificate and a zero-accident achievement board. At the special safety training to prevent similar accidents due to frequent accidents in the shipbuilding and shipbuilding equipment industries in the first half of the year, which was held after the award ceremony , CEO Kim Cheong- wook once again emphasized the importance of accident prevention.​

​On May 27, 30 students and officials from the Department of Management Information at Dongeui University visited SUNBO's business site as part of the 'Module Production Industry Field Trip Program'.  The students arrived at the Gupyeong factory this morning and toured the site, followed by a tour of the Dadae 2 factory and the headquarters. Jaewook Seo The Vice President of SUNBO Industries conducted a company introduction PT, and Executive Director Jeong Je-heon , Manager Kim Jeong-seok, Manager Pyo Jong- won, and Senior Kim Ja-young were in charge of guiding the business site.  Dongeui University's LINC 3.0 Project Group, which hosted the training, is focusing on building an industry-academia-research cooperation platform that will lead a new industry innovation ecosystem centered on WG (Working Group). We are striving to foster future talent by forming exemplary industry-academic partnerships with universities in the Busan region .​​
