"How About a Round of Squid Game?" — First 2025 Hanmaeum Fes…
작성일
2025-03-25
The Hanmaeum Festival, Sunbo Family’s signature communication event hosted by the Organizational Culture Team, made a successful return this year, once again receiving enthusiastic participation. Held on February 26 at the Smart Lounge of Sunbo Industrial’s headquarters, this year’s Hanmaeum Festival featured a game of gonggi — a traditional Korean game which gained renewed popularity after appearing in the upcoming Squid Game Season 2. A total of 12 teams participated in the event, where players tossed a set number of small stones into the air and attempted to catch them on the back of their hands. Each participant declared how many stones they would attempt before throwing. Successfully catching the stones on the back of one’s hand earned 2 points, with an additional 1 point awarded for catching them again after tossing. Each team was given two attempts, and in the end, the Gyejangban team (comprising Hyung-gu Jang and Kyun-woo Park) took first place, while the Design Team 2 (Nokyung Lee and Chiuk Choi) came in second. This year, a new prize system was introduced to boost motivation. Previously, only department funds were awarded — 100,000 KRW for first place and 50,000 KRW for second. Starting this year, however, individual cash prizes are given: 50,000 KRW per person for the winning team and 30,000 KRW per person for the runners-up. With the upgraded rewards, excitement and participation in future Hanmaeum Festivals are expected to rise even further among the Sunbo Family.
