  SB Sunbo is expanding communication through its official YouTube channel by delivering shipbuilding industry knowledge and company culture in an engaging and accessible way. The ESG Communication Team continues to introduce the company’s expertise and workplace culture through a variety of creative content.  One of the most popular series is the Shorts content, “Sunbo Explains,” which presents shipbuilding-related information in a fun and easy-to-understand format for the general public. The use of SB Sunbo’s official mascot, “Pengseon-i,” together with AI-based video technology, has further enhanced the quality and appeal of the content.  In addition, vlog-style videos featuring the daily lives of ESG Communication Team interns have attracted attention by offering authentic behind-the-scenes stories from the workplace, including content such as “What a Shipbuilding Industry Intern Does in the First Week.”  SB Sunbo plans to continue actively engaging with subscribers through diverse and innovative content that highlights the company’s expertise as an eco-friendly energy solutions provider and the passion of its employees.

  On April 28, 50 employees of SB Sunbo were officially invited to attend the “Lotte Giants DAY” event held at Sajik Baseball Stadium in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Dong-A University.  The invitation was arranged following the special connection established in March, when Chairman Choi Geum-sik received an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from Dong-A University in recognition of his innovative leadership and continuous contributions to society. The event further strengthened industry-academia cooperation and partnership between the two organizations.  The game between the Lotte Giants and the Kiwoom Heroes delivered an exciting finish, with Lotte securing a dramatic 5–4 victory. Employees enjoyed cheering together, strengthening communication with colleagues, and recharging through a memorable and energetic outing.

  SB sunbo held a business agreement ceremony on April 16 at its headquarters in Busan to promote the “Busan Shipbuilding Industry Regional Shared-Growth Gap Reduction Support Project” together with local shipbuilding equipment companies. The agreement was organized as part of the “Busan Shared Workplace Council,” supported by the Busan Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the goal of addressing the long-standing labor market dual structure between prime contractors and subcontractors in the shipbuilding industry. What makes this initiative particularly meaningful is that participating companies will jointly contribute financial resources to directly support second- and third-tier partner companies, focusing on employment stability and improvements to working conditions. The council includes SB Sunbo Co., Ltd. and other regional shipbuilding equipment companies, along with HJ Shipbuilding & Construction. Support programs will focus on practical measures that workers can immediately benefit from, including workforce recruitment and retention, protection of skilled labor, and enhancement of workplace safety and welfare. Seo Jae-wook, Vice President of SB Sunbo, stated, “The true competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry depends not on the performance of individual companies, but on the health of the entire supply chain.  SB sunbo successfully held the “2026 One Heart Sports Day” on April 13 at the indoor gymnasium of Busan Health University, bringing together 325 participants including employees, partner companies, and family members.  The event was organized to strengthen mutual growth and harmony with partner companies while fostering a family-friendly corporate culture. Participants demonstrated great enthusiasm and teamwork through a variety of group games and activities.  The program featured diverse events such as “Queen Dodgeball,” “Balloon Tower Building,” “Color Panel Flipping,” “100-Second Mission,” and “Mission Relay Race.” In particular, the “Paper Airplane Distance Contest” with children created a warm and joyful atmosphere for everyone. Cheerleader performances and a lucky draw also added excitement, making the event a true festival enjoyed by all participants.  Through this sports day, SB Sunbo further strengthened bonds among employees and partner companies. The company plans to continue organizing various programs that promote healthy corporate culture, communication, and unity in the future.

  SB Sunbo held a morning lecture for employees at the main auditorium of its headquarters on March 11. Under the theme of “The Attitude of Mutual Respect for Stronger Relationships,” the session focused on practical ways to promote smooth communication and a healthy culture of collaboration within the organization.  The lecture emphasized “relationship-building skills” as a key factor for a successful workplace culture and highlighted the importance of recognizing and respecting others’ thoughts and emotions. In particular, the session introduced practical approaches centered on acknowledgment, respect, and action through active listening and empathy.  Through the lecture, Sunbo Family members reflected on their everyday communication habits and learned effective ways to build positive relationships and maintain mutual respect even in conflict situations.

  SB Sunbo held the “Career Break ZERO Challenge” campaign at Dadae Plant 1 on April 1 in collaboration with the Busan Women’s Cultural Center and the Busan Women’s New Work Center.  The campaign was organized to raise awareness about preventing career interruptions and improving workplace perceptions through a mobile coffee truck event. As a participating company, SB Sunbo provided a space where employees could naturally engage with the campaign and learn more about related support programs and policies.  During lunchtime, many Sunbo Family members visited the coffee truck to enjoy coffee and take a refreshing break from work. Employees also actively participated in various campaign programs, including a survey on career interruption prevention, sharing in the campaign’s meaningful message together.

  SB Sunbo held its “30th Blood Donation Sharing Event” on March 26 with the participation of employees committed to sharing the value of life. Despite their busy schedules, a total of 28 Sunbo Family members voluntarily took part in the event, adding meaning to the campaign through their generous participation.  To encourage greater participation, the event was organized by worksite and time schedule. The blood donation bus first visited the Dadae Plant 1 and Gupyeong Plant in the morning, followed by Dadae Plant 2 in the afternoon, creating a company-wide atmosphere of sharing and support.  Now marking its 30th event, SB Sunbo’s blood donation campaign has become an important part of the company’s culture beyond a one-time activity. SB Sunbo will continue to hold regular blood donation events to support the local community and promote the value of respect for life through meaningful sharing activities.

  The Sunbo Volunteer Group carried out a series of volunteer activities this spring to support and care for local community members in need. On March 10, the group visited the Molundae Welfare Center’s senior cafeteria, where volunteers assisted with meal serving and dishwashing while warmly greeting elderly visitors and providing heartfelt service. After the meal service, the volunteers also helped clean and organize the facility. New member Minjin Kim also joined the activity and actively contributed on site.  On March 21, the group conducted a disinfection volunteer activity for 40 households at an apartment complex located in Molundae, Dadae-dong. Volunteers carefully disinfected key areas vulnerable to pests, including sinks, drains, and bathrooms, and distributed installed cockroach control products to residents. During this activity, Giyoung Choi from the Quality Team participated for the first time and shared a meaningful experience of community service with local residents.  The Sunbo Volunteer Group plans to continue carrying out various volunteer activities in support of the local community.

  SB Sunbo is conducting employee health checkups through a rotating, on-site program at each plant, enabling employees to conveniently monitor their health even during busy work schedules.  Starting with the Dadae Plants 1 and 2, the program includes comprehensive basic examinations such as physical measurements and chest X-rays, along with tailored screenings like pulmonary function and hearing tests. Health checkups at the Gupyeong Plant will follow in sequence.  Beyond standard medical examinations, SB Sunbo is committed to enhancing the quality of life for the Sunbo Family. Through unique wellness initiatives such as the “No-Smoking Fund” and the “Body Fat Reduction Challenge,” the company actively supports employees in maintaining energetic and healthy lifestyles.

 The HSE Planning Team of SB Sunbo participated in the “Busan Safety Culture Commitment Ceremony and Safety Prayer Event” hosted by the Busan Regional Ministry of Employment and Labor on March 24, reaffirming its commitment to industrial accident prevention and safety practices. Approximately 220 safety and health officials from across the region attended the event, pledging to achieve targets for reducing major industrial accidents and to promote a strong safety culture. Representing the Shipbuilding Safety and Health Council, SB Sunbo also took part in the safety prayer ceremony, wishing for zero accidents across all its workplaces. The event concluded with a signature campaign expressing commitment to safety and a symbolic “safety performance” to raise awareness. SB Sunbo will continue to strengthen its safety management and actively promote a culture of safety to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.

  SB Sunbo continues its educational support initiatives to foster the growth of local students as part of its 2026 scholarship foundation program.  On March 3, the company provided scholarships to all seven first-grade students at Hallim Elementary School during the entrance ceremony. In addition, SB Sunbo is supporting a career exploration program in Seoul for first-year students at Hallim Middle School, helping them explore future career paths.  The program includes visits to major institutions such as Seoul National University, the National Assembly, and KBS, offering students valuable experiential learning opportunities to better shape their aspirations.  SB Sunbo plans to further expand its scholarship programs and educational support, continuing to promote shared growth with the local community.

  SB Sunbo held a University Internship Orientation at its headquarters on March 30, marking the start of its program with eight selected interns.  The internship was designed to provide young talents with hands-on, practical work experience. Vice Chairman Park Doo-sun personally presented name badges to the interns, offering encouragement and celebrating their new journey.  The program also included a company introduction session and safety training to help interns better understand the organization and build strong safety awareness. From March 30 to June 5, the interns will participate in a 10-week program, working five days a week for five hours per day. They will be assigned across six departments—ESG Communication Team, Finance & HR Team, R&D Center, Gupyeong Production Management Team, Gimhae Production Management Team, and Gimhae Quality Management Team—where they will gain valuable hands-on experience.

  Vice Chairman Park Doo-sun of SB Sunbo received the Busan Metropolitan City Mayor’s Commendation on April 2 at the Busan Citizens Hall during the “Group Wedding Sponsorship for People with Severe Disabilities and Merit Award Ceremony,” in recognition of his contributions to promoting the welfare of people with disabilities.  This honor reflects the company’s continued commitment to social contribution activities, including sponsoring group weddings for people with severe disabilities. The initiative has been highly regarded for providing meaningful wedding opportunities to couples who had postponed their ceremonies due to financial or physical constraints, while also helping them overcome social isolation. On the 2nd, SB Sunbo attended the "Emergency Safety & Support Service Vehicle Handover Ceremony" held at Busan City Hall, where the company donated 10 specialized emergency response vehicles. Along with 7 vehicles donated by Panasia, a total of 17 vehicles were delivered to the Community Chest of Korea (Busan). The vehicles provided by SB Sunbo will be deployed to service agencies across all 16 districts and counties in Busan, functioning as "Mobile Relief Centers."
