​On August 26, SUNBO Angel Partners (SUNBO Angel) and Lighthouse Combined Invest (Lighthouse) conducted a new employee workshop at the headquarters training center.The morning session featured presentations on company management goals, strategies, and introductions, along with work reports from key executives. The presentations included:          - Space Business from an Investor’s Perspective and CVC Fund Management Strategy by Lighthouse Executive  Director Kim Il-tae         - SUNBO Robotics by Lighthouse Director Sung Kyung-hyun         - Work Reports from Each Division by Lighthouse Team Leaders Park Jin-wook and Byun Jun-ho, and SUNBO   Angel  Manager Lee Han-gyeol         - Introduction to SUNBO Angel by SUNBO Angel CEO Oh Jong-hoon         - Creating 1 Trillion in Customer Value by Seonbo Angel Director Lee Se-young The afternoon session included a discussion between executives from Lighthouse and the headquarters, followed by a new employee training session, marking the conclusion of the workshop.Through the program, new employees developed a stronger sense of mission and belonging as members of Seonbo’s venture investment team, fostering collaboration with promising companies and contributing to global growth.​ 

 From August 3 to 10, SUNBO Family conducted safety and health training sessions for supervisors across its affiliates. On August 9 and 10, SUNBO INDUSTRIES and SUNBO UNITECH’s Gupyung Plant, along with Seonbo Peace, held a two-day training program at the Dadae Plant 1 training center. The session was attended by 50 supervisors from both in-house and partner companies, along with three on-site safety managers. Before the training, Jeong-seok Kim from the General Affairs Team introduced SeonboFamily and its welfare programs for partner companies, while Kyung-ho Choi, Executive Director of Business Planning, presented the company’s LET’S GO 2025 vision. Vice Chairman Park Du-seon and Executive Director Lim Young-sam (HSE) stressed the vital role and responsibilities of supervisors.The first day’s agenda included topics such as supervisor duties, the roadmap for reducing serious accidents, understanding risk assessment, and preventing cardiovascular diseases. On the second day, HSE Team’s Gwang-jun Sung from Seonbo Unitech covered measures for preventing musculoskeletal disorders, spine health management, understanding MBTI in workplace dynamics, and safety education focused on Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). On August 3 and 10, SUNBO UNITECH’s Daebul Plant and SUNBO HIGHTECH conducted training for 26 supervisors from both in-house and partner companies. The sessions covered topics such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act, safety and health policy directions, compliance with the Serious Accident Punishment Act, occupational disease management and prevention, and understanding risk assessments.Participants concluded the training by committing to continuous efforts in preventing workplace accidents and promoting the health and well-being of the employees under their supervision.​ 

​On August 25, SUNBO successfully concluded the Social Integration Program for foreign workers, conducted at the Busan Marine Equipment Cooperative. The program, which ran from May 19 to August 25, saw the participation of 14 foreign workers who completed the entire curriculum with dedication. Organized by the Ministry of Justice, the Social Integration Program aims to help foreign workers in industrial complexes adapt and integrate into Korean society by providing systematic training in the Korean language, culture, and social norms.SUNBO’s initiative ensured that foreign workers developed a sense of belonging and familiarity through exposure to the Korean language and culture, fostering smooth communication both in the workplace and in everyday life. The program also created opportunities for participants to build camaraderie and mutual support through group-based learning over the three-month period. This experience allowed them to forge strong bonds and develop a deeper understanding of Korean society, promoting successful integration beyond the workplace.​ 

  On August 21 and 28, SUNBO INDUSTRIES​ and SUNBO UNITECH​ conducted morning lectures on workplace etiquette and business manners at their training center and in-house cafeteria. The August session, themed “Smart Workplace Etiquette - Business Manners”, was led by Kim Seo-hyun from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The lecture highlighted the importance of business manners, how they are evolving in the new normal era, and their connection to organizational culture and job performance. Practical communication etiquette tailored to different mediums and situations—such as phone calls, emails, and messaging platforms (SNS)—was shared, providing participants with actionable insights.With the increasing prevalence of on-contact communication in workplaces, the session also emphasized effective methods to minimize misunderstandings and negative outcomes in virtual interactions. The SUNBO Family participants gained a deeper understanding of the significance of business manners in enhancing interdepartmental communication and job proficiency, equipping them with essential skills for improved workplace collaboration and performance.

​On July 12, Seonbo held its 2024 first-half company-wide business performance review meeting at the Busan Industrial-Academic Convergence Center. The meeting, attended by over 80 executives and managers from four affiliates (SUNBO INDUSTRIES, SUNBO UNITECH, SUNBO HITECH, and SUNBO PEACE), commenced at 9:30 a.m. and lasted approximately eight hours. The event began with a company anthem recital, followed by an opening speech from SUNBO Family Chairman Choi Keum-sik, who emphasized the importance of producing differentiated, premium modules to enhance product competitiveness and achieve revenue growth. He pledged to strengthen employee compensation based on performance and create a supportive, family-like working environment with excellent welfare benefits. The first presentation focused on the company’s long-term growth strategy, “LET’S GO 2025”, with each team outlining key initiatives, including:       - Premium Module Differentiation      - Accelerating Growth of Eco-Friendly LNG Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS)      - Detailed Implementation of Sustainable Management through Value Sharing Subsequent reports covered cost reduction achievements, updates on environmental, safety, and health (HSE) management, and performance reviews for the sales and production divisions (Industrial and Unitech).Following a group lunch and commemorative photo session, presentations resumed with reports from the production, design, and quality divisions, as well as updates from materials procurement, management support, business planning, IT, and commissioning teams.During the closing assessment, SUNBO HiGHTECH CEO Kim Sang-do highlighted five key initiatives:      - Establishing a safe, bright, and clean factory environment     - Meticulous project preparation and flawless execution     - Strengthening R&D for future growth     - Securing a clear competitive advantage through TOTAL competitiveness     - Embedding Seonbo’s work systems and corporate culture He urged the SUNBO Family to focus on strict project planning, meeting deadlines, and fostering strong teamwork. Vice Chairman Park Du-seon and Seonbo Unitech CEO Kim Cheong-uk emphasized the need for organizational collaboration to drive work process innovation, digitization, and productivity optimization. They also stressed enhancing safety management across all Seonbo sites and strengthening partnerships with external collaborators.​ 

​SUNBO Industries has been honored with the distinction of being selected as a 2024 Youth-Friendly Company, an initiative led by the city of Busan to recognize companies that attract and meet the expectations of young workers. The Youth-Friendly Companies are chosen through a three-stage evaluation process that considers salary levels, job stability, growth potential, work-life balance, and employee benefits. Seonbo Industrial earned high marks for its robust welfare system, including medical expense support, infertility treatment coverage, childbirth bonuses, condolence and encouragement payments, and well-equipped in-house rest facilities. The 2024 Youth-Friendly Company Launch Ceremony was held on July 26 at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center. The event included updates on program implementation, details on support benefits, an award ceremony for the official selection, and a special lecture on understanding MZ generation culture and enhancing local recruitment capabilities. Companies selected for the program benefit from dedicated Youth-Friendly Managers who facilitate company-youth matchmaking, marketing campaigns targeting local youth, customized consulting for growth and competitiveness, and exposure through the online youth employment platform Youth Busan Jobs, where their company information is made publicly accessible. 

​​On July 18, SUNBO Angel Partners hosted a roundtable at the UNIST AI Innovation Park in Ulsan, discussing the theme: “How to Integrate AI into Regional Industries.” The event featured key participants including SUNBO Angel Partners CEO Oh Jong-hoon, UNIST President Park Jong-rae, Associate Professor Yang Seung-jun from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as Professors Kim Hyung-hoon and Yoon Sung-hwan from the Graduate School of AI and Professors Ko Sung-an and Kim Jung-hoon from the Department of Computer Science. The AI Innovation Park, established in 2021, serves as an AI innovation hub with the mission of fostering an ecosystem that connects AI and big data with education, research, and entrepreneurship. It is currently driving initiatives such as the AI Novatus Academia, which trains on-site workers as AI experts and develops AI models for industrial application, and AI+X, a program that supports joint research between academia and industry to integrate AI into local manufacturing.During the event, UNIST faculty members presented various technologies and practical applications involved in major projects. SUNBO Angel Partners explored the progress of ongoing projects in areas such as smart manufacturing, smart mobility, smart healthcare, and next-generation semiconductors, where AI research teams are collaborating with regional companies. SUNBO plans to continue identifying outstanding collaborative cases to maximize synergy between local industry capabilities and the research infrastructure of regional universities, fostering technological growth and innovation.​ 

​On July 10, SUNBO participated in the 2024 Shipbuilding Industry Safety and Health Improvement Workshop held at BEXCO, where it presented best practices in managing safety and health for foreign workers. Organized by the Shipbuilding Industry Accident Prevention Center of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), the workshop was part of the month-long celebration of Industrial Safety and Health. It gathered safety and health managers from shipbuilding sites and related institutions to discuss strategies for reducing serious accidents and fatalities in shipyards and to share outstanding management cases from various workplaces. Representing SUNBO Family, the event was attended by Kim Cheong-uk, CEO of SUNBO Unitech, along with Executive Director Lim Young-sam (HSE) and Senior Manager Bae Sang-jun (HSE Team). As a representative of small to mid-sized shipbuilding companies in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, Kim Cheong-uk presented Seonbo’s successful programs aimed at supporting foreign workers, including settlement programs, safety training, and education initiatives.He highlighted the company’s focus on treating foreign workers like family to help them quickly adjust to the workplace, fostering a positive experience that encourages them to return even after returning to their home countries.​ 

​From July 5 to 6, Seonbo conducted a practical training course on ISO internal audit response at its headquarters training center. The training, designed for team-specific ISO audit representatives, aimed to develop skilled personnel in preparation for the upcoming internal and follow-up ISO audits in the second half of the year.On the first day, Moon Hyung-woo, a representative from the Korea Quality Assurance Institute, delivered lectures on the certification overview and requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as environmental impact assessment documentation and case studies.On the second day, Ahn Hyun-chul from the same institution led sessions on internal auditor techniques and practical exercises, along with an in-depth understanding of risk management systems.Seonbo plans to systematically train ISO personnel within each team to ensure effective responses during future audits.​ 

​On July 18, the 'Body Fat Reduction King' contest took place at the company’s headquarters training center, aiming to help SUNBO Family members achieve and maintain a healthy weight tailored to their bodies. Participants were scored based on changes in four key areas: body fat reduction rate, muscle mass increase rate, weight loss, and basal metabolic rate improvement. Both participants and the company contributed a set amount of funds monthly, with final scores determining the top winners (1st to 3rd place) and high scorers (those earning 60 points or more), who received tiered cash rewards. Those who failed to meet their goals donated their accumulated funds entirely to charity.Additionally, the event featured basic metabolic syndrome checkups and educational sessions on atopic dermatitis and asthma prevention, conducted by the Health Dream Center of Saha-gu Public Health Center.​ 

​On July 5, SUNBO Peace joined the Busan Community Chest’s prestigious Honorary Donation Company program, marking a significant milestone for the SUNBO Group as three of its affiliates have now been recognized as major contributors. SUNBO PEACE participated in a joint enrollment ceremony held at the Busan City Council, alongside 12 other local companies, reaffirming its commitment to philanthropic management. The Honorary Donation Company program recognizes companies that donate more than 100 million KRW or pledge to do so within three years, serving as a role model for corporate social responsibility.The ceremony was attended by Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan Community Chest Chairman Choi Keum-sik, and Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Yang Jae-saeng, who expressed their encouragement to company representatives.By pledging a 100 million KRW donation, Seonbo Peace became the third SeonboFamily affiliate to join the program, following Seonbo Industrial in June 2021 and Seonbo Unitech in April 2022. Moving forward, Seonbo remains committed to sustainable management, fulfilling its social responsibilities, creating shared value, and contributing to the public good for a better local community.​ 

   On July 20, SUNBO held a family pot cake-making event at its headquarters training center, providing an opportunity for communication and bonding among SUNBO Family members.The event was attended by 38 participants from 13 families, with instructor Bae Hye-min from the cake workshop "Sugar of Happiness" leading the session. SeonboFamily members enjoyed a fun and interactive experience with their children, creating cakes using colorful bean paste, cookie crumbs, worm-shaped jelly, and other creative ingredients.

 ​On July 1, Sunbo Industries held a ceremony to commemorate its 38th anniversary at its headquarters and various plants. The event was attended by executives, management personnel, production staff, and leaders from partner companies, who gathered to share congratulations and encouragement. The ceremony began with a national pledge, singing of the company anthem, and recitation of the code of ethics, followed by an awards presentation for contributions, exemplary performance, outstanding employees from partner companies, gratitude sharing, and recognition from related organizations. Awardees received plaques, certificates, and monetary prizes. In his anniversary speech, Chairman Choi Geum-sik emphasized the importance of establishing a safety culture, fostering a family-friendly workplace, cultivating positive thinking, and enhancing inter-departmental communication. He urged everyone to practice the company motto of "Always think and do your best," stressing that their efforts should bring greater happiness to themselves and their customers.To mark the special occasion, a special encouragement fund of 380,000 KRW was distributed to all members of Sunbo Family. The ceremony concluded with a recitation of the Ten Commandments of Sunbo, a cake-cutting ceremony, and the chanting of the company slogan and anthem.

 Sunbo Angel Partners held a roundtable with investment companies on June 12 and 26. The first session, held at the headquarters of Surplus Global on June 12, featured a presentation by CEO Kim Jung-woong, who discussed the growing prominence of the used semiconductor equipment sector. Surplus Global specializes in the sale of used equipment, helping companies reduce their financial burdens on machinery as global semiconductor demand rises due to the fourth industrial revolution. Surplus Global has sold over 60,000 semiconductor legacy equipment units worldwide, positioning itself as a leading small enterprise in the industry, and is now planning to expand its business from equipment distribution into manufacturing.  The second roundtable, held at Ananti at Busan Cove on June 26, featured investment presentations from Sunbo portfolio companies "BTI" and "Revobots." BTI is a company focused on hydrogen refueling equipment, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydrogen energy solutions (P2G), and it was the first company to receive a 1 billion KRW investment from the Lighthouse Combine Invest’s "Regional Innovation Water Innovation Fund." Revobots specializes in custom 3D printing robots based on generative AI and natural language interfaces, showcasing its products during the presentation. As they wrap up the first half of 2024 and assess their achievements, Sunbo Angel Partners aims to continue focusing on discovering promising investment opportunities in the second half of the year.​ 

​On June 11, Sunbo participated in the "Youth-Centric Companies, Know DREAM" job fair held at BEXCO's Hall 1, engaging in recruitment activities with job seekers.  This fair, organized by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, is part of the "2024 Youth-Centric Company Support Program," designed to promote companies by connecting them with preferred universities and relevant fields of study to encourage quality job creation. The initiative aims to introduce youth-centric companies in Busan and raise interest through mentoring sessions with current employees, motivating young people in the Busan-Gyeongnam area to pursue employment in local outstanding companies.  The event featured 20 youth-centric companies and attracted over 300 young job seekers. Activities included employment support consultations, interview coaching, and mentoring. Sunbo expects that its participation in this program will enhance its competitiveness as a youth-friendly employer while discovering talent in the maritime equipment sector. 

​On June 19, the Busan Chamber of Commerce (Busan Sangsang) visited Sunbo Industries for a corporate tour.   This visit was part of the "On-Site Job-Type Employment Service Academy Course" workshop program organized by the Busan Regional Human Resource Development Committee. The academy aims to enhance the expertise of employment service personnel from local job centers and universities, enabling them to respond proactively to changes in hiring trends and processes across Busan's key industries.   During the visit, representatives from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and related organizations toured the testing facilities at the Dadae 2 Plant, as well as the promotional hall and design office at the Dadae 1 Plant. The day concluded with a company introduction by Vice President Seo Jae-wook, followed by a Q&A session.​
