From August 3 to 10, SUNBO Family conducted safety and health training sessions for supervisors across its affiliates. On August 9 and 10, SUNBO INDUSTRIES and SUNBO UNITECH’s Gupyung Plant, along with Seonbo Peace, held a two-day training program at the Dadae Plant 1 training center. The session was attended by 50 supervisors from both in-house and partner companies, along with three on-site safety managers. Before the training, Jeong-seok Kim from the General Affairs Team introduced SeonboFamily and its welfare programs for partner companies, while Kyung-ho Choi, Executive Director of Business Planning, presented the company’s LET’S GO 2025 vision. Vice Chairman Park Du-seon and Executive Director Lim Young-sam (HSE) stressed the vital role and responsibilities of supervisors.The first day’s agenda included topics such as supervisor duties, the roadmap for reducing serious accidents, understanding risk assessment, and preventing cardiovascular diseases. On the second day, HSE Team’s Gwang-jun Sung from Seonbo Unitech covered measures for preventing musculoskeletal disorders, spine health management, understanding MBTI in workplace dynamics, and safety education focused on Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). On August 3 and 10, SUNBO UNITECH’s Daebul Plant and SUNBO HIGHTECH conducted training for 26 supervisors from both in-house and partner companies. The sessions covered topics such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act, safety and health policy directions, compliance with the Serious Accident Punishment Act, occupational disease management and prevention, and understanding risk assessments.Participants concluded the training by committing to continuous efforts in preventing workplace accidents and promoting the health and well-being of the employees under their supervision.

On August 25, SUNBO successfully concluded the Social Integration Program for foreign workers, conducted at the Busan Marine Equipment Cooperative. The program, which ran from May 19 to August 25, saw the participation of 14 foreign workers who completed the entire curriculum with dedication. Organized by the Ministry of Justice, the Social Integration Program aims to help foreign workers in industrial complexes adapt and integrate into Korean society by providing systematic training in the Korean language, culture, and social norms.SUNBO’s initiative ensured that foreign workers developed a sense of belonging and familiarity through exposure to the Korean language and culture, fostering smooth communication both in the workplace and in everyday life. The program also created opportunities for participants to build camaraderie and mutual support through group-based learning over the three-month period. This experience allowed them to forge strong bonds and develop a deeper understanding of Korean society, promoting successful integration beyond the workplace.

The August session, themed “Smart Workplace Etiquette - Business Manners”, was led by Kim Seo-hyun from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The lecture highlighted the importance of business manners, how they are evolving in the new normal era, and their connection to organizational culture and job performance. Practical communication etiquette tailored to different mediums and situations—such as phone calls, emails, and messaging platforms (SNS)—was shared, providing participants with actionable insights.With the increasing prevalence of on-contact communication in workplaces, the session also emphasized effective methods to minimize misunderstandings and negative outcomes in virtual interactions. On July 12, Seonbo held its 2024 first-half company-wide business performance review meeting at the Busan Industrial-Academic Convergence Center. The meeting, attended by over 80 executives and managers from four affiliates (SUNBO INDUSTRIES, SUNBO UNITECH, SUNBO HITECH, and SUNBO PEACE), commenced at 9:30 a.m. and lasted approximately eight hours. The event began with a company anthem recital, followed by an opening speech from SUNBO Family Chairman Choi Keum-sik, who emphasized the importance of producing differentiated, premium modules to enhance product competitiveness and achieve revenue growth. He pledged to strengthen employee compensation based on performance and create a supportive, family-like working environment with excellent welfare benefits. The Youth-Friendly Companies are chosen through a three-stage evaluation process that considers salary levels, job stability, growth potential, work-life balance, and employee benefits. Seonbo Industrial earned high marks for its robust welfare system, including medical expense support, infertility treatment coverage, childbirth bonuses, condolence and encouragement payments, and well-equipped in-house rest facilities. The 2024 Youth-Friendly Company Launch Ceremony was held on July 26 at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center. On July 18, SUNBO Angel Partners hosted a roundtable at the UNIST AI Innovation Park in Ulsan, discussing the theme: “How to Integrate AI into Regional Industries.” The event featured key participants including SUNBO Angel Partners CEO Oh Jong-hoon, UNIST President Park Jong-rae, Associate Professor Yang Seung-jun from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as Professors Kim Hyung-hoon and Yoon Sung-hwan from the Graduate School of AI and Professors Ko Sung-an and Kim Jung-hoon from the Department of Computer Science. The AI Innovation Park, established in 2021, serves as an AI innovation hub with the mission of fostering an ecosystem that connects AI and big data with education, research, and entrepreneurship. On July 10, SUNBO participated in the 2024 Shipbuilding Industry Safety and Health Improvement Workshop held at BEXCO, where it presented best practices in managing safety and health for foreign workers. Organized by the Shipbuilding Industry Accident Prevention Center of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), the workshop was part of the month-long celebration of Industrial Safety and Health. It gathered safety and health managers from shipbuilding sites and related institutions to discuss strategies for reducing serious accidents and fatalities in shipyards and to share outstanding management cases from various workplaces. Representing SUNBO Family, the event was attended by Kim Cheong-uk, CEO of SUNBO Unitech, along with Executive Director Lim Young-sam (HSE) and Senior Manager Bae Sang-jun (HSE Team). From July 5 to 6, Seonbo conducted a practical training course on ISO internal audit response at its headquarters training center. The training, designed for team-specific ISO audit representatives, aimed to develop skilled personnel in preparation for the upcoming internal and follow-up ISO audits in the second half of the year.On the first day, Moon Hyung-woo, a representative from the Korea Quality Assurance Institute, delivered lectures on the certification overview and requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as environmental impact assessment documentation and case studies.On the second day, Ahn Hyun-chul from the same institution led sessions on internal auditor techniques and practical exercises, along with an in-depth understanding of risk management systems.Seonbo plans to systematically train ISO personnel within each team to ensure effective responses during future audits.

Both participants and the company contributed a set amount of funds monthly, with final scores determining the top winners (1st to 3rd place) and high scorers (those earning 60 points or more), who received tiered cash rewards. Sunbo Angel Partners held a roundtable with investment companies on June 12 and 26. The first session, held at the headquarters of Surplus Global on June 12, featured a presentation by CEO Kim Jung-woong, who discussed the growing prominence of the used semiconductor equipment sector. Surplus Global specializes in the sale of used equipment, helping companies reduce their financial burdens on machinery as global semiconductor demand rises due to the fourth industrial revolution. Surplus Global has sold over 60,000 semiconductor legacy equipment units worldwide, positioning itself as a leading small enterprise in the industry, and is now planning to expand its business from equipment distribution into manufacturing. The second roundtable, held at Ananti at Busan Cove on June 26, featured investment presentations from Sunbo portfolio companies "BTI" and "Revobots." BTI is a company focused on hydrogen refueling equipment, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydrogen energy solutions (P2G), and it was the first company to receive a 1 billion KRW investment from the Lighthouse Combine Invest’s "Regional Innovation Water Innovation Fund." Revobots specializes in custom 3D printing robots based on generative AI and natural language interfaces, showcasing its products during the presentation. As they wrap up the first half of 2024 and assess their achievements, Sunbo Angel Partners aims to continue focusing on discovering promising investment opportunities in the second half of the year.

This visit was part of the "On-Site Job-Type Employment Service Academy Course" workshop program organized by the Busan Regional Human Resource Development Committee. The academy aims to enhance the expertise of employment service personnel from local job centers and universities, enabling them to respond proactively to changes in hiring trends and processes across Busan's key industries. During the visit, representatives from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and related organizations toured the testing facilities at the Dadae 2 Plant, as well as the promotional hall and design office at the Dadae 1 Plant.
