On December 7, the Sunbo Family conducted a coal donation volunteer activity in the Gamcheon-dong 2nd district area.
Gathering around 7:30 a.m. near the vacant lot at Gamnae 1-ro, the Sunbo Family, wearing gloves and vests, held a ceremony to donate and deliver 10,000 coal briquettes. Despite the sharply cold weather, many participants, including young children, attended, emphasizing the spirit of giving. Over 100 employees, along with about 30 spouses and children, split into four teams under the guidance of social workers from the Busan Coal Bank to carry out the activity. Participants were provided with bottled water and snacks during the event. Tasks were divided, including loading the coal onto carriers, transporting them, and delivering them to each household. The volunteer work, lasting around two hours, concluded around 9:30 a.m.
With rising raw material and delivery costs this year, following a similar trend from last year, energy-vulnerable households face increasingly difficult situations. Despite coal briquettes being a vital heating source for some, public awareness and donations have declined. This highlights the importance of awareness campaigns and promotional activities, supported directly or indirectly by key local manufacturing companies like Sunbo Industrial.
The Sunbo Family aims to continue helping marginalized local neighbors affected by the prolonged economic downturn. They plan to encourage more employee participation in charitable efforts and expand support through various initiatives.
