On January 15 and February 3, Sunbo Industrial and Sunbo Unitech held sharing sessions to enhance employees' understanding of the Sunshine Project.
The Sunshine Project is a strategic initiative aimed at transforming Sunbo from a traditional shipbuilding equipment company into a global energy solutions provider. Through this first session, Sunbo has kicked off a series of briefings and departmental discussions to ensure all employees recognize their roles within the project, fostering shared goals and open communication.
During the session, Lee Se-young, Director of Sunbo Angel Partners, presented insights from the ‘Interview 100’ project, which involved interviewing 100 employees last year. This initiative aims to strengthen communication, motivation, and talent management while reflecting employees' perspectives to improve overall job satisfaction. Another round of 100 interviews is planned for this year.
Oh Jong-hoon, CEO of Sunbo Angel Partners, explained the significance and goals of the Sunshine Project in the evolving maritime and shipbuilding sectors, outlining strategies for strengthening Sunbo’s competitiveness in shipbuilding, LNG, and eco-friendly solutions. Sung Kyung-hyun, Director at Lighthouse Combined Investment, introduced the execution and management framework for the project and presented Sunbo’s future technology roadmap. Lastly, Ko Deok-soo, CEO of Carbon Value, discussed the company’s history and its competitive edge in core technologies. He emphasized that the successful development of commercialized equipment within just two years was made possible by the synergy between Carbon Value’s design capabilities and Sunbo’s exceptional manufacturing expertise.
At the February 3 session at Sunbo Unitech, Vice Chairman Park Doo-sun stated, “Through Sunshine 2027, Sunbo will evolve into a global leader in eco-friendly energy solutions, and each member will also have opportunities for personal and professional growth. Let’s bring together our passion, determination, and preparation to ensure the project’s success.”
The next Sunshine 2027 Sharing Session is scheduled for March at Sunbo Unitech’s Daebul plant.
