English course for the first half of the year began on the 11th of February. The four-month schedule for SUNBO personnel started in order to strengthen their linguistic capabilities.English education in the first half, which runs through June 11, will be held twice every Tuesday and Thursday, with each 90-minute lecture.As the graduates will also be given additional benefits when they complete the personnel evaluation, I hope that all graduates will achieve satisfactory results in four months. 

On February 17th, Mr. Choi was elected as a New Chairman of the Busan Shipbuilding & Marine Equipment Industry Cooperative (hereinafter referred to as the Association). In an interview with the Busan Daily, he said, "The shipbuilding equipment and materials business capability is the competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry". He also pointed out that the "creating a logistics complex for shipbuilding equipment and materials" that can be used together by the industry as the starting point for strengthening the competitiveness of shipbuilding equipment and materials companies as the first goal within the four-year term. "We have been in the industry for a long time and realized that large shipbuilding companies and equipment manufacturers should be united and find a "win-win solution", he said. "We plan to create a communication channel between large shipyards and equipment manufacturers in the union and act as a bridge."

SUNBO implements 'SUNBO Greetings Day' after the New Year holidays. The event has become a representative culture showing greetings of CEO and other board of directors to the workers in SUNBO. This year, on January 2nd and the first day after Lunar New Year's Day, on January 28th, executives including Chairman Choi met the employees directly and shared their virtues. 

- On February 3rd, all of the All SUNBO factories hold safety rite at 12:10. The safety rite is a an event that held by SUNBO in every February, May, August, and November to pray for safety of all SUNBO members. - The first safety prayer event held in 2020 was held to pray for the safety of the family especially on the occasion of the 2020 Gyeongja Year.

   Our company regularly conducts safety checks every Wednesday by designating themes. The followings are the SUNBO safety themes in February▶ Week 1: Sling Belt, Clamp, Shackle, Fire Extinguishing System, Safety Pathway.▶ Week 2: Gas Cutters, Manifolds, Work Tables (including Ladders), Safety Pathways.▶ Week 3: Electric ground (welder / movable cable / outlet / equipment), grinder (air / electric), revel puller, chain block, safety passage.▶ Week 4: Big Door, Scaffolding Status (Foot Scaffolding / Handrail / Opening Part), Distribution Box (Ground / Cable / Enclosure).  

  On December 27th, our company was certified for intellectual property management by Korea Intellectual Property Office. The Intellectual property management certification is required to receive seventy (70) points or more according to total eleven (11) evaluation criteria including intellectual property organization, domestic and international intellectual property application records, and R&D personnel. It is quite difficult to get the certification due to the amount of the materials to prepare and visiting screening. However, by acquiring this certification our efforts have been recognized, With this certification, SUNBO is eligible to receive additional points when participating in various government projects such as R&D business (start-up growth technology development business, technology innovation development, product service technology development, process quality technology opening). 

 On Tuesday, December 17th, 2019, SUNBO entered into an agreement with the Busan Regional Tax Office to strive for transparent management and faithful payment in 2020.Thirteen (13) corporations signed the agreement, and Chairman Choi Geum-sik had received the Best Taxpayer Award in 2019 from the National Tax Service. 

   Busan selected SUNBO as a leading company as part of its industrial boosting strategic.  Busan selected a total of Eighty-Seven (87) small to mid sized companies who can lead markets. The selected fields were seven different areas including smart marine industry, intelligent machinery industry, future transportation equipment industry and global tourism industry. Selected companies is eligible to receive various supports for its business operation from Busan. 

     On December 7th, SUNBO personnel volunteered to share the coal briquettes with local low-income households. From 8:00 am, about seventy (70) volunteers gathered in Gamcheon 2-dong, Saha-gu, Busan, delivered total one thousand five hundred (1,500) coal briquettes to local low-income households.

 Regas & drum units were delivered on Nov. 22nd the work started at around last April. Those units are the main system installed on FSRU currently being built by Hyundai.  There were many unpredicted challenges such as delays in delivery of materials or sub-equipment, but SUNBO could overcome those kind of challenges by doing its utmost endeavor.  This was our third project with Hyundai for FSRU Regasification module. Although there were many obstacles, SUNBO successfully delivered the units before the FSRU got pushed out to sea.  This achievement is very meaningful that we could show our competitiveness to our major client again. We believe this will boost our reputation further.   

 On December 2nd, SUNBO awarded the Red Cross Gold Medal at the '2020 Hope Relay Campaign Declaration Ceremony’ held at Busan Red Cross Hall.  

  Families participated in the late autumn marathon festival, Busan Marathon, held around the Nakdong Estuary. The marathon starting point was from the Dadaepo Beach near the headquarters of the SUNBO.In order to strengthen this family-friendly company culture, SUNBO will create a variety of events continuously.   

  On October 19th, The Company climbing competition was held in Baenaegol Yeongnam Alps. Emphasizing ownership, responsibility and intergenerational sympathy as the joint destiny through the subtitle “One Team Spirit – We Together, We are One,” this climbing competition has held by more than 200 members of the family and their families.  

   Chairman Choi of SUNBO was honored with the 12th Korea Grand Maritime Grand Prize. The Korea Maritime Grand Prize awards one of the most prominent companies every year to encourage industrial stakeholders.  Chairman Choi, who has been devoted to shipbuilding equipment industry for 40 years, has succeeded in modularizing ship parts. He was recognized for his work in laying the foundation for the marine industry.   

     SUNJAE Scholarship Foundation keeps supporting elementary and middle school students in Gimhae by offering field education. From September 25th to 27th, Hanlym middle school students went field education in Seoul as career experience learning program. Total eighty-nine (89) students have already been to Seoul as field education program for the last four years. This career experiential study targeted twenty-nine (29) first-grade students and thirty-two (32) students. They've stayed at Lotte City Hotel Mapo for three (3) days and Students were visited Seoul National University, Daehakro Theater, House of Parliament, Memorial Hall, KBS Broadcasting Station, Samsung Electronics Delight, and Nam June Paik Art Center.  

  On August 20th, in-house English education began. A total of 33 students applied for the training, and two classes were opened in the industry and two classes in the Gupyeong factory.In the second half of the year, English education will be held twice a week for four months until December 12.
