 최근 우리 회사는 친환경 에너지 사용 기업 홍보를 위하여 수소 차량을 법인차량으로 구 매하였다. 에너지 대전환 시대를 맞아 선박 부문의 친환경 연료로 LNG가 각광받고 있듯, 차세대 에너지원으로 수소에 대한 관심 또한 크다. 특히 수소차는 전기차 대비 긴 완충 주 행거리(전기차 약 400㎞, 국내 수소차 609㎞) 와 5분 정도면 완료되는 짧은 충전 시간(전기 차 30분 이상)을 자랑한다. 그러나 아직은 개 인이 구매하기에 부담이 되는 것도 사실이다. 이에 우리 회사는 임직원을 대상으로 수소차 를 시승할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 만 26세 이상 운행이 가능하며 운행을 원하 는 직원은 총무안전팀에 방문하여 차키를 수 령하여 이용 후 반납하면 된다(선착순 신청). 다만 차량운행일지를 작성하여야 하며 반납 시에는 개인이 연료를 충전하여야 한다. 주말을 이용하여 수소차를 시승해본 전산팀 안정빈 부장은 “문손잡이가 숨어 있다든지 시원한 계기판 등 최첨단 기능 으로 무장한 조용한 차라는 점, 변속기 자체가 없어서 그런지 가속 시 트러블이 없이 밟으면 밟는 대로 나가는 점이 인상 깊었 다. 다만 고속기어에 세팅 값이 맞춰져 있어서 그런지 출발 및 저속구간( 0~50Km/h)에서는 차가 먹먹한 느낌이 들었다”고 시 승 소감을 전하였다.  이번 수소차 시승 이벤트가 선보패밀리에게 차세대 에너지원으로 각광받는 신기술을 접해볼 수 있는 특별한 경험이 되기를 바란다. 

  우리 회사는 5월 26일과 27일, 6월 2일 사흘에 걸쳐 선보공업 다대1, 2, 3공장과 선보피스, 선보유니텍 구평1공장, 구평공장 국민 건강검진 직장가입자 대상 일반건강검진을 실시하였다.우리 회사는 금연캠페인 및 절주캠페인을 통해 선보Family가 건강하게 직장생활을 할 수 있도록 독려하고 있다. 하지만 건강은 무엇보다 본인 스스로가 살피고 챙겨야 한다. 평소 건강관리에 소홀했다면 이번 검진을 계기로 다시 한 번 본인의 건강 상태를 대해 체크하고 챙겨보기 바란다.비사무직 현장 근로자 비율이 높은 우리 회사의 경우 1년 1회 검진 대상자가 많은 관계로 1년에 한 번씩 전사 직원 대상 대규모 건강검진을 실시하고 있다. 직장가입자의 경우 의료진이 회사로 직접 찾아와 검진을 진행함으로써 병원을 찾아가야 하는 수고를 덜 수 있다. 올해 검진에도 대한산업보건협회와 기본이 바른치과에서 사업장을 방문하여 직영직원 282명 및 협력업체 직원들이 검사를 받았다. 5월 26일 진행된 본사 검진의 경우 오전 8시 1공장 직영 인원 및 협력업체 인원을 시작으로 11시 20분경 다대3공장, 선보피스 인원을 마지막으로 종료되었다.우리 회사는 금연캠페인 및 절주캠페인을 통해 선보Family가 건강하게 직장생활을 할 수 있도록 독려하고 있다. 하지만 건강은 무엇보다 본인 스스로가 살피고 챙겨야 한다. 평소 건강관리에 소홀했다면 이번 검진을 계기로 다시 한 번 본인의 건강 상태를 대해 체크하고 챙겨보기 바란다.​ 

선보공업 기술연구소는 자체 기술개발에 대한 의지로 1998년 설립되었다. 한국산업기술진흥협회의 인증을 받은 연구소이다. 연구소 설립 이듬해에는 멕시코에서 수주한 Power Plant on Skid Unit를 제작해 납품하는 성과를 올리게 된다. 지금도 선보는 설계와 연구 인력이 전체 구성원의 36%에 달할 정도로 기술개발에 대한 투자를 아끼지 않는다. 최근에는 친환경으로의 변화를 대비하여 관련 분야를 집중 공략・연구 중이다. <연구소 현재 진행 과제>■ 수소 Hydrogen우리 회사는 최근 수소선박 안전기준개발사업 “선박용 수소 저장용기 및 연료공급시스템 안전기준 개발” 과제를 협약하였다. 주관기관은 한국선급이며, 선보공업은 참여기관으로 연구를 수행하고 있다. 전체 사업기간은 총 5차년도(2024년)까지이며 현재 1차년도 진행 중이다. 선보공업은 연료공급 시스템 관련 개념도와 기능서 및 IGF CODE에 따른 안전 운용절차서, 시험평가 절차서를 작성한다. 수소 운송/추진선 기술 기준을 마련함으로써, 기초 연구단계에 머무르고 있는 국내 수소 선박 기술을 실증 및 상용화 단계로 격상할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.  <연구소 향후 추진 과제>■ 메탄올 Methanol메탄올을 연료로 하는 추진 선박 연구도 수행한다. 메탄올 연료 추진선은 기존 선박보다 배출하는 대기오염 물질이 획기적으로 감소하여 세계 규제에 대응할 수 있다는 점에서 기술 개발 및 도입이 요구된다. LNG나 CNG 같이 다른 대체 연료와 비교하였을 때 저장과 운송이 편리하며, 기존 벙커링 시설에서 약간의 수정으로 초기 인프라 구축비용이 저렴하다. 마지막으로 다양한 친환경적 생산 방법이 있다는 점에서 주목받는다.메탄올 엔진의 연료로 사용되는 메탄올 연료는, 기화가 어려운 반면에 연소 후에 유해 물질이 적다. 특히 100% 메탄올은 저온에서 시동성이나 엔진을 워밍업 하기까지의 회전 안전성이 불량하다. 이러한 문제점에 대한 대안으로 연료전지 기술을 분석한다.■ 메탄 캡처 Methane Capture온실가스 배출의 상당량이 이산화탄소로 알려졌다. 그러나 최근 메탄가스가 지구 온난화에 더 큰 영향을 주기에 메탄가스 배출 감소에 주력해야 한다. LNG 연료의 최대의 적으로 온실 가스 효과 완화를 위해 메탄을 연료를 사용한다. 그러나 사용 중 메탄이 직접 배출되는 경우 오히려 온실 가스 효과가 더 큰 문제로 발생한다. 메탄에 의한 온난화 영향은 이산화탄소보다 84배가 높다. 메탄은 열을 효과적으로 흡수할 수 있기 때문에 기후에 훨씬 큰 피해를 입힌다. 약 25%의 지구 온난화는 메탄 배출로 인한 것으로 분석된다. 연구소에서는 이에 대응하여 다공성 물질 또는 흡수제를 촉매로 활용한 기술로 메탄가스를 이산화탄소로 변환시키는 연구를 수행한다. ■ 암모니아 Ammonia 암모니아는 수소 대비 비교적 합리적인 에너지 밀도(12.7 GJ/m3) 및 액화 온도(-33°C)로 인해 저장이 용이하며, 다른 탄소중립 연료에 비해 생산/운송비용이 저렴하고 안정적인 대량 생산 및 운송 기술이 확보되었다.액화 암모니아는 비교적 낮은 체적 에너지 밀도를 가지고 있으며, 기존 화석연료와 비교할 때 약 4.1배 정도의 탱크가 필요하여 화물 손실을 고려할 필요가 있다. 액화 암모니아 가압 탱크 또는 저온 탱크에 보관해야 하나, 가압 탱크의 경우에는 약 10bar, 저온 탱크의 경우는 -34°C로 암모니아 저장이 가능하여 저장 탱크의 설계 및 제작이 비교적 용이하다. 연료의 저장 및 운반 측면에서 고려할 때 바이오 가스 및 수소보다는 월등히 뛰어난 저장 특성을 가진다.

 On the 18th of May, the Director of Busan Regional Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Mr. Moon-Hwan Kim visited SUNBO Industries. The visit began with an introduction to SUNBO Industries in the PR Hall, and after having lunch at the company cafeteria, a meeting was arranged accompanied by afternoon tea.   The meeting was a special opportunity to discuss and share their expert professional opinions. After the meeting, the group took a site tour of Factory 2 and explored SUNBO Industries’ LNG-related products. The Busan Regional Ministry of SMEs and Startups was founded to help start-ups, venture businesses, small business owners, and self-employed businesses located in the Busan region. It is part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups which provides support for startups, R&D, exports, and financial support to foster innovation and economic growth.

 On May 26, the chairman of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Mr. Jeong-hwan Kim visited SUNBO IndustriesThe Korea Industrial Complex Corporation was established with the aim of developing and managing industrial complexes and supporting businesses industrial activities.The purpose of this visit was to meet and greet members of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, presenting Busan HQ main areas of work for 2020 (Head office Meeting Room) and on-site visits, where the visit proceeded with explaining the current state of the industry and production site inspections. After arriving at Factory 2 within the SUNBO Industrial Complex around 3pm, the group from Korea Industrial Complex Corporation visited the head office, listened to introduction on SUNBO Industries, and then attended a meeting prepared by Chairman Choi. Here, some of the difficulties currently being faced by the production site were discussed, and the group explored ways to support regional industrial complexes and SMEs. As a result of this visit, it can be expexted that the government interest in local complexes will continue and practical plans will be prepared. 

 - Increased Recognition in the Local Community as a Leading CompanySUNBO Industries was selected as an outstanding company for employment in Busan for 2020. The Busan Outstanding Company for Employment certification project was first introduced in 2010 to encourage private companies to expand employment and create jobs. The project identifies and supports companies that have demonstrated increased investment over the past three years and have also shown a significantly increased employment rate. This year, 39 companies applied to be recognized as an outstanding company for employment, and after an initial assessment and subsequent field survey, fifteen companies, including SUNBO Industries, were selected as outstanding companies for employment by the expert committee on May 13. Companies selected as outstanding companies for employment receive various grants and benefits includinga certificate and plaque, 40 million won for improving the working environment, reduction of real estate acquisition tax for the acquisition of new businesses, exemption for local tax. One city official who attended the awards ceremony explained that “we will do our best to restore economic vitality and continue to grow local businesses by combining the power of Busan, companies, and the government.” Despite difficult economic conditions both internally and externally, SUNBO has worked hard to increase employment and improve the welfare of our employees. This award recognizes these efforts and as such as great significance. SUNBO will continue to play a significant role as a leader and example for other SMEs in the region, while striving to further develop the shipbuilding industry, stabilize employment in Busan and continue to develop the region.  

In May 11th, the rites for praying safety was held in our factories (Daedae 1, 2, 3 plants, Peace, Gupyeong, Gupyeong 1 plant, Yeongam plant). In addition to acquiring ISO and OHSAS 18001. SUNBO is putting a lot of efforts to maintain the values of safety first and preserving environment.

On April 29th, SUNBO held a round-table conference for promotion. In this meeting, the person who will be promoted attends and shared their thoughts. On May 12nd, a business card and a name badge were distributed to the person who is being promoted at the head office.

 On May 15th, SUNBO held the "SMART SUNBO" TFT launching ceremony. “SMART SUNBO” represents the way of working smart by using information technology to overcome the limitation of time and place adopted by SUNBO. It especially focuses on “HOW TO WORK” and “HAVING SMART OFFICE”.  The "SMART SUNBO" TFT was formed with the aim of reducing the adaptation period of new employees to a minimum through regular TFT meetings and supporters, and making smart promotion that everyone can be satisfied with.  At the TFT launching ceremony on this day, fifteen (15) members of the TFT primary organization, as well as Chairman Mr. Choi, CFO. Seo and Managing director Kim attended. 

 - On April 6th, a group of visitors, including Mr. Kim Jin-soo of the Busan Daily, visited SUNBO. - The purpose of this visit was to understand the trends and difficulties of the shipbuilding and marine equipment companies.

On March 23rd (Mon), SUNBO provided five (5) masks to all employees and its partners. Despite the implementation of the government limitation in providing masks, SUNBO has decided bulk purchasing of masks to provide directly its personnel and partner employees. Since last February, SUNBO has provided over ten 10,000 masks to direct and subcontracted employees and currently plans to continue giving masks in every two weeks.

 On March 23rd (Mon), SUNBO donated 20,000 masks for the socially underprivileged to Gimhae. At this meeting, Vice Mayor Kim Hae-si delivered a deep appreciation that it was a great help to the low-income families of the community (basic recipients, upper-class families, single-parent families, etc.) 

SUNBO donated 10,000 vitamin D to Gimhae City Hall on March 18th (Wed.) as part of social contribution activities to prevent the spread of the Corona 19 area. On this day, CEO Mr. Choi of SUNBO, Vice Mayor Mr. Jo Hyun-myeong of Kim Hae-shi and Director of Civil Welfare Kim Tae-moon attended. According to medical research, vitamin D increases immunity in our body and is effective in preventing viral infections. Based on this, SUNBO has provided vitamin D to our employees and partners of our business. The vitamins donated to Gimhae City will be paid to marginalized groups in the community for free.

 - SUNJAE foundation scholarship ceremony for the first half of 2020 was held at the headquarters on February 20th.  - In the first half of 2020, scholarship recipients (high schools, universities) and parents, as well as board members of the Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, and Hallym Middle School and Hallym Elementary School were present. - Unlike any other award ceremony, which simply delivers scholarships, it was conducted with a rich program that included an introduction of the SUNJAE Scholarship Foundation's activities and a tour of the headquarters and factories of the showcase industry, which received favorable responses from participants. 

- The blood donation event, one of the representative social contribution activity of SUNBO, was held on February 19th at the Dadae 1st, 2nd, Gupyeong and Gupyeong 1st factories respectively. - The blood donation event on this day was especially meaningful since the Korean Red Cross is experiencing difficulties in getting blood due to the Corona virus prevailed Korea from January 19 while the fear has spread among the people in Korea.
