 "Sharing a systematic vision and receiving a great response from in-depth executives."  On October 28 and 29, Sunbo successfully completed the SUNBO Welcome School's Smart Introduction Gilajabi, a workshop for new entrants. Twenty-nine new employees (as of September this year) and 11 executives participated in the workshop, which was held on the second floor of the Fairfield by Marriott Hotel in Amnam-dong, Seo-gu.   The workshop aims to share the company's vision and management goals with new entrants and to enhance the ability to respond to changes in the new environment. On the morning of the first day, executives gave enthusiastic lectures such as ▲ Sunbo Growth Story (executive director Seo Jae-wook) ▲ LET'S GO 2025 mid- to long-term vision (executive director  Choi Kyung-ho) ▲ Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd.'s new business promotion strategy (CEO Kim Chung-wook) ▲ FGSS system and business outlook (Vice President Kim Nam-soo). After the luncheon, ▲ Understanding and Prospect of Eco-Friendly Ships (Director Jang Ho-gil) ▲ Global Environmental Regulations and Overseas Marketing Strategy (Director Lee Ji-young) were taught, as well as positive mind building education and singing classes by outside instructors. The new employees then wrapped up their first day's schedule with a commemorative photo session after having a comfortable communication time with the CEO with Chairman Choi Geum-sik.   On the second day, after a lecture by Choi Hong-ryul, CEO of Sunbopeace Co.,Ltd. on the theme of reading, goal management, and sharing of gratitude, time was set for the discussion task of new entrants. New entrants presented their team's strengths and improvements under the theme of "Resolving Collaboration and Communication Issues," and made individual presentations by writing what they wanted from related teams. The presentation will be submitted to the executive meeting and used as a reference for future management activities and team goals.   Through this workshop, new entrants were able to grasp detailed information on market prospects and management status, as well as the importance of communication and cooperation to create results. In particular, lectures by executives and horizontal communication sessions on various topics, which were difficult to access, drew great response among new employees. Won Yoon-jung, an employee (Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. and Design Team 3), said, "I was able to know the vision of Sunbo through the workshop, and I had a happy and fulfilling time with good people." Kim Jin-woo (Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., Design Team 6) said, "I was able to draw in detail what direction Sunbo wants to move forward," adding, "As a Sunbo Family, it was an opportunity to solidify my mind to contribute to achieving the LET'S GO 2025 goal."

 Kim Chung-wook, CEO of Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., won the Achievement Award at the 48th anniversary ceremony hosted by Samsung Heavy Industries.  Samsung Heavy Industries held an inaugural ceremony on the 14th floor of the Geoje Shipyard Support Center on the 2nd.   CEO Kim Chung-wook, who won the Achievement Award on behalf of the Sunbo Family, has played a part in practicing trust and win-win management as the nation's No. 1 partner of the big three in Joseon. In particular, as a master of the technology commercialization new growth engine team to promote the four major strategic tasks of LET'S GO 2025, it is actively promoting securing key future technologies including carbon neutrality. While quickly building a new growth engine inside, Sunbo is recognized externally for its thorough quality and compliance with delivery dates, and maintains solid cooperation with Samsung Heavy Industries and other large domestic shipbuilders.   As a market leader in the shipbuilding industry, Sunbo is expected to play a role in responding to changes quickly and flexibly and continuously growing together.

 Jeong Je-heon, managing director of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd., won the Minister of Industry's commendation in the "2022 Award for Merit in Development of Machinery, Robot, and Aviation Industry" selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Industry.  The Ministry of Industry and the Korea Machinery Industry Promotion Association held a reward ceremony for the development of the machinery, robot, and aviation industries in the grand ballroom on the third floor of KINTEX's first exhibition hall in Goyang on the morning of October 18. On this day, Executive Director Jeong Je-heon was recognized for his achievements by winning a prize in the machinery sector of the capital goods industry at the recommendation of Samsung Heavy Industries. The main content is that it contributed to the development and commercialization of the BOG (evaporative gas) recondensation system of LNG propulsion ships. The system acquired a basic patent in 2020 and obtained exclusive use rights overseas (China and Japan) in 2021. As of the end of 2021, it was first applied to two LNG propulsion ships under construction, and is set to be applied to 11 more in the future.

 With the Busan Autumn Festival enriched by lifting social distancing and daily recovery measures, the Sunbo Family participated in the Saha Galmet-gil Walking Contest hosted by the Saha-gu Business Development Council on October 16. The Saha Galmet-gil Walking Competition is an alternative event to the "Seunghaksan Autumn Climbing Competition," which was held before the COVID-19 pandemic, and was first organized this fall, drawing a lot of expectations from participants.  About 100 executives and employees of Sunbo gathered at Sinpyeong Leports Park at 9:30 a.m. and traveled about 6.7km along the coastal walkway to Dadaepo Beach Park. Before the event, Seonbo provided vests, snacks, bottled water, and prize lottery tickets to its executives and employees individually employees.   The Sunbo Family walked along the Galmet-gil for about two hours with their accompanying families and carried out environmental cleanup activities using gloves and envelopes prepared in advance. Local residents also gave warm eyes to the children of family-level participants actively participating in environmental cleanup activities. The walking competition was meaningful in that it strengthened the will to win-win and strengthened daily touch with residents by organizing events with the local community.

 On the morning of October 27, Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. conducted special safety training for all executives and employees at the Grand Education Center on the fourth floor of its headquarters.   In this day's education, he emphasized the importance of complying with safety rules through various industrial accident cases along with calling attention to safety insensitivity. The HSE team, the department in charge, recommended the mandatory wearing of safety protective gear that is easy to overlook when entering the factory and suggested 12 safety rules established by Sunbo Family. In order to realize disaster-free workplaces, it is necessary to consider and respond flexibly to the number of cases according to each situation, such as on-site monitoring of management workers, A/S, and visits to external customers, as well as daily work. In the event of a safety accident, the HSE team strictly prohibited reporting delays and concealment of reports, and urged them to promptly deliver the location and circumstances of the accident, and the patient's condition. 

 Sunbo participated in the 2022 GREEN & OFFSHORE KOREA 2022 held in BEXCO from the 12th to the 14th.   The exhibition was held in a new form in which the eco-friendly marine energy field was added to the existing "International Marine Plant Exhibition" in accordance with the shipbuilding industry's response to global marine environment regulations and the goal of realizing carbon neutrality. It was designed to check the sustainability of the traditional energy industry through carbon reduction technology in line with eco-friendly issues facing the shipbuilding industry, while sharing response technologies and alternative energy market trends toward a decarbonized society. The exhibition, which was held under the theme of "Transition from Oil to Green Renewable Energy," drew attention as a number of small and medium-sized companies that showcase hydrogen-powered real ships, including the domestic shipbuilding BIG3.   As a green energy solution company that creates sustainable future value, Sunbo submitted its main items, FGSS, water electrolysis (PEM method), CCUS, solar cell, and waste pyrolysis (composite gas production) system. It introduces at a glance the gas value chain system that promotes joint development and demonstration of energy solutions, including Sunbo Angel Partners' investment acceleration strategy and Sunbo Family's EPC commercialization support system.   The exhibition, which marks its sixth anniversary this year, was a success with 154 companies from 11 countries participating in 400 booths. A total of 9,986 visitors visited for three days, proving that the marine plant industry is an indescribable high value-added industry and a new future food for marine powerhouses. In addition, the exhibition, which was well-organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and seminars, served as an opportunity to revitalize exchanges between industries that had been blocked by the spread of COVID-19 and share the direction and flow of green offshore plant technology in detail. 

 Sunbo Angel Partners held "Connecting Dots" at the Nurimaru APEC House on the 13th to diagnose the present of open innovation and predict the future.  As Korea's leading startup accelerator, Sunbo Angel Partners has realized open innovation that connects the values of traditional manufacturing and technology startups and expands investment. "Connecting Dots" is a concept that emerged in Steve Jobs' famous speech, which is consistent with the direction of the company that seeks to maximize value through convergence and connection between industries, just as several distributed points are connected.   The event, which kicked off with the Pre-Show later in the day, was first followed by the announcement of the current status of its open innovation and future strategies by Choi Young-chan, CEO of Lighthouse Combine Investment, and Oh Jong-hoon, CEO of Sunbo Angel Partners. Subsequently, the theme presentation of Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. and Carbon Value and Frontier Energy Solutions, which introduce the central axis of the green energy industry, called the "End of ESG Investment," and new challenges, was held.   During the dinner and networking time, which is considered the highlight of the event, a special concert by global startup Tongyeon Entertainment, which is invested by Sunbo Angel Partners, was prepared. The event, which was held successfully in a historical space where world leaders gathered to discuss economic cooperation, remained a meaningful time to reaffirm Sunbo Angel Partners' management goals and willingness to strengthen its investment capabilities. Sunbo Angel Partners, which aims for the "power of connection" and supports start-up discovery and innovation with a unique market sense and drives it to the global stage, will continue to take strong steps.

 Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. will jump into a large-scale green hydrogen demonstration project starting in clean Jeju.  Choi Geum-sik, chairman of Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., attended the "Green Hydrogen Global Hub Construction Plan and Production Facility Demonstration Commemorative Event" held at CFI Mirae Hall in Jeju on September 29. On this day, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Jeju Island announced plans to establish a large-scale green hydrogen demonstration project and a Jeju-type green hydrogen ecosystem for the first time in Korea.   The 12.5㎿ hydrogen power generation  complex, which will be created in 2026, aims to produce 1,176 tons of hydrogen annually based on a 60% utilization rate, and plans to supply the produced hydrogen to 200 cleaning vehicles in Jeju City and 300 buses in and out of the city.   Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. is expected to play a role as a major participating company as it has formed a hydrogen value chain with domestic startups and research institutes and continues to collaborate on industry-academic joint research and development.

 Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Engineering on the 7th for cooperation in new eco-friendly and energy businesses and plant modules.  The purpose of this agreement is to develop and invest joint technologies in new business fields such as ▲ facility modularization ▲ small module nuclear power plant (SMR)  development ▲ water electrolysis system ▲ solar ▲ carbon dioxide capture ▲ plasma gasification.   SMR and plant modularization, major cooperative areas, are in the spotlight as new growth engines and high value-added industries that the world is paying attention to. SMR, which is considered a next-generation eco-friendly energy source, is known to have a short construction period, low carbon emissions, and high safety with a size of 1/100 of that of existing nuclear power plants. The modularization method of manufacturing plant modules in separate locations and transporting them to construction sites is also showing high effects in terms of air reduction and cost reduction.

 On September 18, Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. obtained certification from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.  The certification project contest, which ran from April 7 to May 31, was aimed at companies with excellent human resource development, such as establishing a competency-oriented talent recruitment and management system and continuing education and training for employees. Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. believes that the selection of the first family-friendly company for small and medium-sized companies and the continuous practice of family-friendly management, such as winning the "Family Love Grand Prize" by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, may have had a positive impact on the selection.   With the selection of excellent institutions, Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. will be granted benefits such as exemption from regular labor supervision, support for training courses for personnel in charge of certification agencies, and additional points in various corporate support systems during the certification period (3 years).

 The "First Half of 2022 Business Performance Presentation" was held at the Noksan Education and Training Center of the Busan Human Resources Development Institute on July 14th to establish quick measures and survival strategies through the current status and analysis  of each department.  As social distancing caused by COVID-19 eased during the period, business plans and performance reports of four corporations (Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd., Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., Sunbo Hitech Co.,Ltd., and Sunbo Peace Co.,Ltd.) were conducted in one place. The report schedule, which began with 91 executives and employees who were responsible for each corporation, lasted about eight hours from 10 a.m., starting with the introduction of Saga and the opening speech of Chairman Choi Geum-sik.   As the first schedule, a team-specific announcement of the mid- to long-term strategy "LET'S GO 2025 Strategy" to create eco-friendly technology value  for the shipbuilding industry was prepared. In this announcement, the four major strategic goals, △ new luxury module gap △ accelerated growth of eco-friendly LNG fuel supply unit FGSS (Fuel Gas Supply System) △ technology commercialization new growth engine △ value-sharing sustainable management, were reported. Subsequently, the first part of the order was completed after reporting to the sales division, including the current status of the environmental and safety and health of the HSE team.   After lunch and commemorative shooting, the company continued to announce seven factory sectors, design sectors (shipment and plant), quality sectors, material procurement, management support, and management planning, starting with analysis of shipbuilding market conditions and cost reduction reports. The presentation, which lasted until 6 p.m., ended with a strong review and slogan by Chairman Choi Geum-sik and CEO Kim Sang-do and Kim Chung-wook.   Chairman Choi Geum-sik stressed the need for thorough self-development to cultivate professionalism and change the atmosphere of the company to resolve barriers between departments. CEO Kim Sang-do called for a review so that the timely material warehousing rate can be felt in production. It also urged to calmly judge the crisis situation of the parent company and its partners and resolve it together, and to make efforts to ensure that individual performance is linked to the achievement of company-wide performance. CEO Kim Chung-wook stressed the need for large-scale reorganization, including reorganization of the business performance reporting process and innovation in the computer and ERP sectors in realizing and utilizing the smart factory system.

 On July 15, the "Launching Ceremony of the Integrated Project Group for Innovative Technology Development of Eco-Friendly Ships" was held at the Chosun Marine Equipment and Materials Research Institute in Yeongdo-gu. The eco-friendly ship electricity innovation technology development project (hereinafter referred to as the eco-friendly ship project) will be carried out for 10 years from this year to 2031, jointly promoted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.  Eco-friendly ships are next-generation high value-added ships that can reduce ship carbon emissions by 30% in the process of building ships, and are accelerating technology development in Korea under the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Convention.   The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries recruited research and development institutions to participate in the eco-friendly ship business through a public announcement from March 14 to April 1. The project aims to develop key source technologies that will lead the eco-friendly ship market in preparation for the increasingly strengthened regulations on ship greenhouse gas emissions and commercialize them early through land and sea demonstrations. For the organic linkage of each task, it is carried out in the form of an integrated project in which R&D institutions in the form of consortiums participate.   Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. (new business team) is a consortium-hosted company and will work with a total of six joint R&D institutions: ▲ Jungwoo E&E Co., Ltd. ▲ Hi-Air Korea ▲ Korea Maritime University ▲ Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Research Institute ▲ Hyundai Heavy Industries ▲ Samsung Heavy Industries. This study aims to localize and commercialize key equipment for ammonia fuel supply systems for ship engines. The total project cost is 6.34 billion won, of which 4.5 billion won will be supported by government contributions.   The consortium, which includes Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd., has set up a four-year development plan by dividing the project into three main categories. The demonstration will be completed through the design and performance verification of fuel supply systems and equipment, and from the stage of advance certification to holding a demonstration.   In particular, the shipbuilding industry is expected to be able to effectively lead the development project as it has a number of experience in manufacturing and demonstrating LNG fuel supply systems. 

 On July 8, Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. signed a technical agreement with Hanwha Impact with nine partners at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul. Under the agreement, Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd.  is expected to play a role in Hanwha Impact's hydrogen mixing project, which combines hydrogen with liquefied natural gas (LNG). The agreement calls for Hanwha Impact and 10 companies to cooperate in technology to win and carry out government projects.  Hydrogen mixed power generation is a method of generating electricity by burning hydrogen and natural gas together in a gas turbine, and is considered a groundbreaking eco-friendly technology that emits no carbon compared to conventional liquefied natural gas (LNG) power generation. It has the advantage of reducing the burden of investment costs as it can convert aging gas turbines into eco-friendly energy sources at low costs and utilize power infrastructure such as the existing power grid.   Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., along with its partners, will enter a demonstration project to reduce carbon emissions by up to 39% by applying hydrogen mixing ratio to F-class gas turbines. Through this technological cooperation, partners expect to win a government project to apply hydrogen mixture to F-class gas turbines, which have a larger power generation capacity than existing gas turbines. While Hanwha Impact will be in charge of performing tasks such as developing demonstration tasks and combustor parts manufacturing and managing combustor parts, Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. will be in charge of diagnosing gas turbine systems and localizing parts.   As coal-fired power generation, which has been around for a long time since the industrialization era, has been pointed out as one of the most polluters of greenhouse gases and fine dust, it is actively jumping into setting goals and developing policies to realize carbon neutrality worldwide. The expansion of green energy based on hydrogen-mixed gas turbine technology is expected to greatly support new growth engines in Korea in the future.

 On July 13, Sunbo organized company-wide security training on the subject of technology protection for all executives and employees of the company. Four corporations, including Sunbo Industries Co., held online video conferencing (ZOOM) at training centers and restaurants in each factory.  Instructor Kim Byung-mo, who conducted the training, is a technology protection expert with experience in security education in private companies and public institutions, and delivered the necessity and core rules of corporate technology protection to executives and employees of all factories. Instructor Kim Byung-mo said, "With the 4th Industrial Revolution, convergence and cooperation between industries and companies, and the development of high-tech technology, the risk of technology theft between countries and competitors has increased."  

 Let's look back on the harsh reality and look forward to a new leap forward! On July 1, a 36th anniversary event was held at the headquarters of SUNBO industries Co.,Ltd. and each factory. A total of 100 SUNBO families participated in the event, including executives, managerial responsibilities, production workers, and suppliers and winners. Starting with the national ritual at the commemorative event, after the company's song and ethics code were introduced, the awards ceremony was held in the order of "Related Institution Head Award, Appreciation Sharing Award, Partner Excellent Employee Award, Model Award, and Achievement Award." A total of 50 executives and employees, including eight who received the heads of related agencies, were honored with the award, and the winners were given prize money along with the award.  Kim Choong-sik, managing director (FGSS Design Team), who won the Achievement Award, said, "It is an honor to celebrate the 36th anniversary together. The successful delivery of our SWS, FGSS, and EPC projects is attributed to our excellent technology from sales to design, research, procurement, production, quality, test-drive, and the passion and contribution of executives and employees in all fields. We will do our best for the success of the NTS, NAMURA, FGSS, and EPC projects," said Jeong Hyo, who won the Achievement Award together, expressing his gratitude to his colleagues, along with his pledge to "reward the future of the shipbuilding industry in the future."   In a commemorative speech following the 36th anniversary of its foundation, Chairman Choi Geum-sik said, "Let's do our best to share greater happiness not only to the company but also to the current and future customers."   The ceremony ended with a reading of the 10 commandments, a cake-cutting ceremony, company's song and slogan. On the occasion of its foundation anniversary, 360,000 won and tie gifts were delivered to all employees of the company. I applaud all the SUNBO families who did their best in their respective positions from the leading company of the module unit to the company specializing in LNG eco-friendly ship equipment E.P.C.  

 Our company has signed a business agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries for the pilot application of  'FOS (Future of Shipyard). The agreement is a cooperation to build a smart system that can check 3D drawings in real time at the workplace. Hyundai Heavy Industries is pushing for a "FOS of Shipyard" project to efficiently improve work management by establishing a smart shipyard by 2030 and connecting all processes from ship design to production in real time. The FOS project will be carried out in three stages, with a "visible shipyard" by 2023, a "connected and predictable optimized factory" by 2026, and a "intelligent autonomous shipyard" by 2030. As a result, a system that can check 3D drawings in real time at the work site using SUNBO's tablet PC and a dedicated program developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries will be preemptively implemented and an LTE network dedicated to tablets will be established. When FOS construction is completed, it is predicted that process efficiency and productivity will be improved by intuitively grasping the complex installation status of units through 3D drawings and managing the process in real time. In line with the trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the shipbuilding and marine industries are also striving to strengthen their competitiveness through smart systems, while convergence with information and communication technology (ICT) throughout the economy and society. The FOS agreement between SUNBO and Hyundai Heavy Industries is expected to serve as the foundation for co-prosperity and development among domestic companies toward smart shipyards.​
