 Lighthouse Invest has formed an open innovation fund worth 70 billion won with 17 mid-sized companies participating as investors.  On April 31, Lighthouse Invest held a general meeting to form the "CVC Scale-Up Open Innovation Fund" and started operating it. The Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Agency and the Korea Development Bank invested 20 billion won and 15 billion won, respectively, while 17 mid-sized companies in a wide range of industries, including shipbuilding, automobiles, materials, smart factories, and media, joined hands with Lighthouse Invest to invest 35 billion won.   The open innovation fund is the second of its kind after 15 mid-sized companies and the Korea Development Bank joined as investors in 2017. Lighthouse Invest plans to invest in future mobility and future industries linked to existing manufacturing industries such as green energy, robotics and aerospace through new funds.

 Sunbo held a company-wide business performance report for the first quarter of 2023 at its headquarters' training center on April 21.  The business performance report was conducted for about seven hours from 10 a.m. with 56 executives and employees from four corporations or more attending.   As a morning schedule, there was a report on the progress of detailed implementation tasks of the four strategic goals of "LET'S GO 2025." Subsequently, the sector was reported in the order of cost reduction, sales, plant sales, production, design, HSE, quality, material procurement, management support, management planning, computerization, and commissioning. Kim Sang-do , CEO of Sunbo Industries Co., Ltd., told Gangpyeong that ▲ all executives and employees should wear safety  gear thoroughly when visiting the production site ▲ plan and process surplus installation materials at a factory level ▲ mark the achievement rate (100%) in detail when preparing performance data. Managing director Choi Kyung-ho also urged to increase accuracy and effectiveness by using raw ERP data when reporting performance data.

 With various sharing and communication events organized by the organizational culture team, the introduction Family is having a richer and more meaningful May than ever.   First of all, the carrot market "Beautiful Donation," a representative sharing activity of Sunbo Family, was held as a special campaign to mark Family Month. Company-wide executives participated in the special campaign and submitted personal belongings from April 27 to May 2. An online comment auction was held until the 3rd, the next day, and the goods were delivered collectively on the 4th, the day before Children's Day. In order to revive the purpose of the campaign, Choi Geum-sik, chairman of Sunbo Family, submitted a number of RC cars, board games, and maker kits for children in addition to living and fashion items. Items that were sold at a lower price than the market price were delivered to each household to increase satisfaction, and the proceeds were converted into donations, resulting in two birds with one stone sharing effect.    The second Hanmaeum Competition, which was held at lunchtime on April 24, also received a great response. The event was "book opening," in which the participant who opened the book randomly and opened the most pages won. The tournament was held as a tournament with one person participating in each team, and a total of 33 people participated to determine three winners. The first-place team to which the winner belongs was paid 50,000 won in department fees. The May Hanmaeum Tournament will be held for about two weeks as a singles table tennis tournament.

 On the morning of April 19, Sunbo Industries Co., Ltd.conducted a business trip health examination for executives and employees at factories 1 and 2.   The examination conducted by Lee Sam Hospital was conducted at each factory's training center and smart lounge, and executives and employees were examined in order with personal questionnaires prepared in advance. Under the guidance of the medical staff, basic physical information such as height and weight, and medical examinations such as urine and blood collection were conducted.    In addition to the mandatory workplace health checkups stipulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Sunbo conducts various health promotion programs to increase the participation rate of executives and employees, such as special safety education, smoking cessation funds, and body fat reduction king competitions.

 Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd., which stands out in new eco-friendly and energy businesses, has successfully delivered water electrolysis facilities that can produce 300kW of green hydrogen for the first time in Korea.  The water electrolysis facility is a technology that produces high-purity green hydrogen by electrolyzing water. Green hydrogen produced by water electrolysis technology utilizes electricity generated from renewable energy and is known as future eco-friendly hydrogen because it does not emit any pollutants (carbon). PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) water electrolysis facilities are considered to be highly efficient due to their high productivity, ease of responding to volatility in power production, and low site size burden. Although related technologies are in the commercialization stage overseas, it is significant that Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd. and Elchemtech succeeded in developing them for the first time in Korea.   Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd. believes that the completeness of the 300kW water electrolysis facility has reached the highest level at home and abroad as a result of steadily developing and improving PEM water electrolysis facilities in cooperation with Elchemtech. In particular, Stack, a key technology for water electrolysis, reflected the optimal technology through many improvement processes, such as Sunbo's suggestion of improvement directions to Elchemtech. This 300kW Stack was assembled inside the shipbuilder and completed the test, proving the core capabilities of the shipbuilder, including its own production capabilities.   Based on the development process using EPC (bulk order) know-how that provides one-stop shipbuilding and land plant design, parts and materials procurement, and construction, Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd. delivered PEM water electrolysis facilities, the first work of the new business. As a result, it was possible to provide an opportunity for domestic and overseas expansion in the full-scale commercialization stage.   Starting with supplying 50kW water electrolysis facilities to the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Research Institute last year, Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd. has continued to increase its performance by completing orders for 300kW this year and 1MW and 2MW next year. Kim Chung-wook, CEO of Sunbo Unitech Co., Ltd., said, "Korea's PEM water electrolysis technology has reached a world-class level, and based on these technologies, we are preparing to enter the renewable energy-rich U.S., Australia, Canada, and the Middle East."

 Job training for ship piping and design design for the development of eco-friendly fuel conversion propulsion ships was held on March 30 and April 6 at the rooftop training center of Sunbo's headquarters.  Hosted by the Busan National University Industrial Transformation Joint Training Center, the job training was attended by new employees from each team of the design department, senior employees, and those who wanted to learn. Park Yong-woon, director of K-Joseon's chairman design team, instructor Park Sung-joon of RWS, and CEO Park Sang-don of Shinseong Turbo Master participated as lecturers to share their job know-how.   In the first session, following the training of ship piping and design design, welding symbol understanding training for design was conducted. In the second session, the types and characteristics of eco-friendly ship pumps were introduced.   Senior Lee Sang-min (Design Team 1), who participated in the training, said, "It was meaningful to learn more about the characteristics and pros and cons of various eco-friendly fuels and to access other fields besides usual equipment."

 A workshop organized by key leaders of LET'S GO 2025 to share the direction and progress of the strategy was held at Myongji Shilla Stay in Gangseo-gu on March 17.  The workshop, which lasted from 1 p.m. to the evening, was attended by 11 executives, including Kim Sang-do, CEO of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd., and Kim Chung-wook, CEO of Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd.. The schedule was held in the order of ▲ presentation of PT data by organization  ▲ free discussion ▲ CEO Kang-pyeong ▲ dinner, and the operation plan of R&BD new growth engines and the evaluation plan of LET'S GO 2025 goals were discussed.   The four strategic goals, ▲ Luxury Module New Gap ▲ Eco-friendly LNG Fuel Supply System (FGSS) growth acceleration ▲ Technology commercialization new growth engine ▲ Value-sharing sustainable management, shared the organizational composition and necessary elements of the four strategies through presentation and free discussion. 

 Smart lounges have newly opened in Dadae 1 and 2 factories and Sunbo Piece office buildings.  Smart Lounge is loved as an active networking place for Sunbo Family and a rest area that increases work satisfaction. The newly opened smart lounge was built in the space on the first floor next to the security office of Dadae Plant 1, the restaurant building on the first floor of Dadae Plant 2, and the restaurant next to the restaurant on the first floor of Sunbo Piece.   Each lounge has a beverage vending machine, a large table set, and a comfortable sofa. A separate space was provided inside so that it could be used as a counseling room and a conference room. Like the lounges created earlier, it is decorated with yellow-toned subtle lighting and plant-teriors (plant+interior).   On the 5th, Dadae 2 Factory held an event to encourage the use of Sunbo Family to commemorate the opening of the smart lounge. Executives and employees had a satisfactory time sitting in the lounge, sharing refreshments and looking around the neatly decorated interior.

 In spring, when mild weather continues every day and activity increases, the Sunbo Health Promotion Program, which began in March, is gaining popularity among executives and employees.  Sunbo runs the "Body Fat Weight Loss King Competition," "No Smoking Fund," and "Health Dream Center," allowing Sunbo Family, which is interested in promoting health, to freely participate in the program. There are 27 participants in the body fat loss king competition, and by October, a certain amount of money will be accumulated by promoting individual health promotion goals. Participants and companies set aside 37,500 won per month, add them up, and select first to third places and high scorers (based on the distribution table) and pay them as rewards. If the goal is not achieved, the reserve fund will be donated in full. Senior Kim Nam-joon (Design Team 5), who will participate in the body fat loss king competition, expressed his ambition, saying, "I will do my best to show my changed appearance with the goal of winning first place."   Separately, the Healthy Dream Center operated by Saha-gu was held at the headquarters of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. on the morning of March 14. Basic examinations for metabolic syndrome, such as measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, and abdominal circumference, and physical and health counseling were provided to applicants.   The non-smoking fund, which will be held until December with 10 participants, is a method in which participants and companies set aside 60,000 won per month, add congratulatory money to the reserves if they succeed in quitting smoking, and donate if they fail.

 The Sunbo Organizational Culture Team has organized the "2023 Communication Day" to eliminate barriers between departments and improve work efficiency.Communication Day is a method in which individual departments produce department introduction materials and then announce them in relay form from March to December. It aims to improve job understanding and relationships through face-to-face communication between departments. It is a place to introduce major tasks with team members and members in the department, and share questions or requests related to the work. It will be held at 5 p.m. on the last Thursday of every month, and the first announcement on March 30 was made by the Ministry of Management and Support (affiliated general affairs team, financial personnel team, and material procurement team). The announcement was attended by team leaders and executives and employees of each department to announce the faces of newly joined employees and introduce the department's work.

​ Sunpporters, which promotes in-house programs and strives to manage external images, was launched with its first launching ceremony in March.  Declareters, the epitome of "Sunbo Supporters," is in charge of promoting in-house programs such as sharing gratitude, liberalizing the use of annual leave, and complying with work concentration time and encouraging participation. In addition, it plans to operate Sunbo Family SNS accounts such as blogs, Instagram, and YouTube, monitor company-related news, and strive to manage external images.   On March 23, the 1st Seonggotters, consisting of 8 executives and employees of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. and Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd., held the 1st meeting to discuss role distribution and promotion measures. As executives and employees voluntarily participated in activities with affection, it is expected that their understanding of the overall company policy will increase.​

 Sunbo Family's "Full of laughter, recharging with energy."  Sunbo Family held the first Hanmaeum Competition to strengthen fellowship and spread the culture of family-friendly companies through physical contact between executives and employees.   The Hanmaeum Competition, first organized by the Sunbo Organizational Culture Team, aims to form a strong intimacy between the Sunbo Family through simple play activities such as ▲ air play ▲ coin flip ▲ badminton ▲ Alkkkagi ▲ jegi kick ▲ jump rope ▲ desk arrangement ▲ table tennis ▲ hula hoop.   The competition was held on February 27 at the smart lounge of each corporation using lunch break time. The first event of the competition was "Flipping 15 coins quickly," and each team selected one representative participant before the event. The game was played in a tournament manner based on a random match list. 16 teams from Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. and 8 teams from Sunbo Piece participated, showing high enthusiasm, and after a close race, Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd.  Design Team 1 (Employee Kim Young-ran) and Sunbo Piece Purchase Team (Employee Lee Eun-ha) won the first place. The first-place team was given 50,000 won in prize money.   The smart lounge, which was used as a place for colleagues to chat or meet over tea during breaks, was filled with noisy laughter thanks to the competition. The meeting became smooth with the lifting of indoor masks, and the Hanmaum competition ambitiously prepared by Sunbo Family received a very positive response from executives and employees. It was mainly said that it was exciting to put down the position for a while and enjoy the game in a comfortable and lively atmosphere. The organizational culture team said, "Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of Sunbo Family, we were able to successfully wrap up the first Hanmaeum Competition," adding, "The Hanmaeum Competition, which will be held every other month, will come with more various contents, so please pay a lot of attention to Sunbo Family."

 The scholarship award ceremony for the Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, run by Sunbo Family, was held at 2 p.m. on February 20 at the Hallim-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in Gimhae-si.  The award ceremony was attended by Choi Sang-sik, chairman of the Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, ▲ board members (5), and auditors (2) ▲ Seo Jae-wook, executive director of Sunbo Industries Co., Ltd., ▲ Choi Sung-hoon, head of Hanlim Elementary School, ▲ Kim Mi-jung, head of Hanlim Middle School, and ▲ parents of scholarship students. The scholarship students selected this time were 17 students, including 11 high school students and 6 college students, who received scholarships and scholarship certificates along with warm encouragement from the foundation.   The Seonjae Scholarship Foundation was established by Choi Geum-sik, chairman of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. to provide stable educational opportunities for teenagers and the underprivileged in Gimhae, and has been carrying out various scholarship projects since its launch in late 2016. Major annual projects include educational programs such as field trips and camps, educational environment improvement support projects, scholarship selection, and scholarship payment.   The Future Station Dream Finding Camp, part of the field trip program, is a program that visits major universities, companies, and media businesses in Korea for three days and two nights for 140 students from 31 middle schools in Gimhae. In addition, it supports the installation of time capsules for graduates, purchase of group sound instruments, and subscription to the Boys Hankook Ilbo through projects to improve the educational environment. Since 2018, the foundation has selected local high school and college students in constant need as scholarship students, producing 136 scholarships as of 2022.

 Sunbo Industries Co., Ltd. conducted management training at the rooftop training center of its headquarters on the morning of February 15 to help understand the integrated management system. Choi Wan-kyun, a member of the DNV Certification Institute who conducted the training, explained the concept of management for systematic organizational operation and introduced a management approach for effective risk management. DNV Certification Institute is an international standard certification (ISO) work support organization established in Korea in 1995 starting with the nonprofit independent foundation in Norway, and provides specialized technology services in the marine plants and ships.  From February 14 to 22, management positions were given a collective education on the prevention of sexual harassment and harassment at work. This education was conducted by Seo Jae-wook, executive director of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd., as a lecturer. 

 Sunbo Family held a company-wide reading discussion on the morning of February 23rd, and executives and employees of the company gathered together to share their book reviews and thoughts. Executives and employees read the pre-distributed "Employee's Mind" (Matsushita Konosuke) and sat face to face with each team and talked about their thoughts and feelings they wanted to share with their colleagues. The Ministry of Management and Support plans to award excellent book reviews separately through a comprehensive evaluation. Among the submitted book reviews, the selected works are introduced below.​  

 The first "Sunbo Blood Donation Day" event in 2023 was held at each factory of Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. and Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. on February 9.The Sunbo organized an event to encourage executives and employees to donate blood in consideration of the more difficult blood supply during the winter and winter vacation. On this day, 24 employees from Sunbo Industries Co.,Ltd. and 5 executives and employees from Sunbo Unitech Co.,Ltd. participated in the life sharing. Senior Kim Dong-hoon (Design Team 1), who participated in blood donation, said, "I've heard a lot that blood supply has been very difficult since the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "I'm very proud to be helpful to someone else through blood donation during difficult times. "If I have a chance in the future, I will take good care of my body so that I can donate blood regularly," he said.
