Sunbo Angel Partners and Lighthouse Invest signed an investment agreement worth 3.5 million euros (about 5 billion won) with Dutch solar electric vehicle company Lightyear on June 28.

 

At the Busan Roundtable held at the Centum Sky Biz Building in Haeundae on the same day, IRs of competitive startups, including Lightyear, were conducted. Executives, including CEO Lex Hoefsloot  Lightyear and Chief Technology Officer  Arjo van der Ham, introduced their core technologies, businesses, and overall management to investors. Lightyear, which has one of the world's leading technologies and commercial vehicle designs, is becoming a promising global company by producing the world's first electric vehicle powered directly by sunlight. It is also a newly discovered company at CES 2023, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition that Sunbo Angel Partners participated in in January.

 

Earlier, Sunbo Angel Partners and Lighthouse Invest conducted an on-site inspection in the Netherlands to examine the local business trends of Lightyear. By signing an agreement, Sunbo announced its intention to establish a cooperative system for developing and procuring core parts led by companies in Busan and establishing a foundry factory specializing in electric vehicles in Busan.
