Facility Tours Europe’s Largest Shipbuilder "Fincantieri" Visit SB Sunbo

On July 3, top executives from Europe’s largest shipbuilder, Fincantieri, visited the Dadae 2 Plant of SB Sunbo to discuss collaboration on carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies.
The delegation included Claudio Cisilino, Group EVP of Operations, Corporate Strategy, and Innovation; Paolo Cerioli, SVP of Innovation; Michele Tornielli, VP and Head of Digital Lab; and Salvatore Bonaccorso, Head of Open Innovation, who returned following his visit in March.
During the visit, the executives toured SB Sunbo’s Carbon Value pilot facility at the Dadae 2 Plant and engaged in discussions on CCS technology collaboration. SB Sunbo stated,
“This visit from Fincantieri and MTB reaffirms that our CCS technology is recognized in the global shipbuilding market and that there is significant potential for collaboration.
We plan to further expand global partnerships and open innovation for a sustainable, eco-friendly maritime industry.”
Additionally, at the opening ceremony of Fincantieri’s Seoul Open Innovation Center on July 2, Carbon Value delivered a pitch on carbon capture technology, drawing strong interest from attendees.
