‘Healthy Shedding’ Body Fat Reduction Contest Concludes Successfully

SUNBO recently concluded its ‘Body Fat Reduction Contest,’ an initiative designed to enhance the self-health management capabilities of employees who are vulnerable to health risks. On the 12th, the company held an award ceremony, presenting cash prizes and certificates to outstanding participants who achieved successful body fat reduction.
The contest, which began in March and ran until October, involved a matching fund system where participants and the company jointly accumulated monthly contributions on a 1:1 basis. On October 24, the final body assessments (InBody measurements) were conducted, and results were compiled to determine the top three performers and high scorers (those scoring 60 points or more based on the scoring criteria). Prizes were awarded according to their ranks, while participants who failed to meet their goals donated their accumulated funds to charity.
The scoring criteria were designed to promote sustainable health improvements beyond mere weight loss, focusing on four key metrics: body fat reduction rate (%), muscle mass gain (%), weight reduction (kg), and increased basal metabolic rate (kcal).
The winners of this year’s contest were:
- 1st place (1 million KRW): Kim Soo-hwan, Senior Engineer, Shipbuilding Production Team
- 2nd place (900,000 KRW): Kim Ki-joo, Senior Team Leader, Material Support Division & Shin Myung-hwan, Senior Engineer, Business Planning Team, Sunbo Unitech
- 3rd place (800,000 KRW): Kim Young-kwang, Senior Engineer, Design Team 8, Sunbo Unitech
