SUNBO Industry A Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) was signed with Dongseong Finetech , K Shipbuilding, and Korea Register (KR) to jointly develop a 12K CBM class liquefied CO2 (LCO2) carrier design.

 

SUNBO Industries takes the lead in the development of cargo handling systems and fuel supply systems, while K Josun leads the development and design optimization of LCO2 carriers (19 bar medium pressure type ). Dongseong Finetech is responsible for developing the LCO2 cargo tank and LNG fuel tank, and KR plans to verify the safety and suitability of the ship in accordance with classification rules and international agreements and ultimately grant Approval of Concept (AIP) certification for the design.

 

At the signing ceremony, each company discussed project success strategies together and agreed on the need to secure technologies that will lead decarbonization in response to the climate crisis and global warming. Close cooperation between project participating companies, including SUNBO Industries, is expected to promote the development of a 12K CBM-level LCO2 carrier with improved efficiency. SUNBO Industries plans to strengthen technological and business partnerships with domestic and foreign companies to quickly respond to carbon regulations .​
